    "from 7pm Sunday to Thursday"
Should I bring a sleeping bag and skip work? :)

Ehm… I could have sworn I walked past this place last week, noticed it was all boarded up and had huge "FOR LEASE" real estate signs up… dodgy?

Moved around the corner in Phillip St.

      • Hah thanks :)

    • +2

Please provide valid reason for the negative.

One of the worst brazilian restaurant in Sydney

  • +1

This is the website for the place: http://www.riorestaurant.com.au/
Had a great time at a similar restaurant in Auckland NZ, good experience with a group. But I live in Melbourne and cant comment on this particular restaurant.

    That's a cheap Brazilian…..

I always love munching on some good Brazilian

      thanks for posting that link..

was tempted to get some vouchers but after reading eatability, I dont think anyone sane would eat at this place… must be one of the worst reviewed place I have ever read from there

      • -1

I also read the reviews, but after buying the vouchers. When I went there in May and June I found it to be a good restaurant. I am a big eater and I was beyond full, and service was good. I went there tonight after buying the vouchers again. They have actually moved. They are on the corner of Phillip and Church st now. The atmosphere is not as good as before, but the food is still good.

        • I still bought it. I'm just worried too :P

I second that. Worst Brazilian restaurant I've ever been to. They make sure you are dehydrated from the over-salted meat and would ask you to order drinks every 5 minutes, which was pretty rude and annoying. BTW, if you are interested in seeing the Brazilian dance, they do it on the street after dinner. I suggest spending your dinner money elsewhere and come by to get a front row view of the dance if you are that interested.

Strange. Eatability is showing this Restaurant as CLOSED. Latest review was July 22nd for a meal a few days earlier. The address has changed, the phone number is the same. Their web site still has the old address. Must have been a quick 'skip' to a new address (and company ?).

    More reviews on UrbanSpoon…

    http://www.urbanspoon.com/r/70/1551219/restaurant/New-South-…

    EDIT:

After reading the 'real' reviews on UrbanSpoon and Eatability, I can see that this would not be a bargain even if it was free. NEG from me.

WOW - the reviews on the UrbanSpoon site are an eye-opener.

Those are the worst I think I've ever read.

It's obvious what the business model of this place is.

We booked for a table over the phone about 2 weeks ago (using similar voucher posted here couple months ago).

When we drove about an hour to the address on the voucher, what did I find there? An empty building with a notice of vacancy or something on the front door. We had to go to another restaurant (it was good though).

The day after, I called the store and they told me they have moved to another address..

The least that they could do was to let me know about the new address (they even asked for my mobile number when I booked.

So… neg from me, first neg here and I was really disappointed.

Probably the worst brazilian bbq I've been to in Sydney
    Even paid full price
Food was dry and too salty. Was like it was reheated a few times
and they keep pushing you to buy more drinks

  • +1

Wouldn't eat there if you paid me $19 bucks. Btw, where IS a good brazilian churrasco in sydney? Any recs?

    • +2

I live in the inner west so I only go to restaurants closeby

      I know that

Braza in leichhardt is pretty popular

my friend's and I like going to Brazilian Churrascaria in Concord

and my brazilian friend said the one in Darlinghurst is good ( i think its called Churrasco Sydney), got to try there next time.

      hope this helps:)

I went to Casa Brasil in Petersham yesterday for lunch. I was satisfied for the price $30 ($39 for dinner), although I didn't get as many types of BBQ as I hoped for. You won't go hungry since the buffet is all you can eat, and includes rice, beans, salads and those wonderful tapioca chips.

    • I usually went to Churrasco at William St, never went to the one at Coogee. Sometimes I went to Braza at Leichhardt.
