  • This game is also on Game Pass.

yeah, but its good to get off subscriptions.

  • Silly question, this is only a single player game isn’t it? (I.e. two kids cant play it on the same xbox. Using split screen?).

    • +2

You can play up to 4 player split screen on this game

If you are on the same network you can also do crossplay so you can play with people playing minecraft on PC, IOS, Android and switch.

      • Can you crossplay with Ps4 to xbox1, ios, etc?

        • I can’t tell you if you can now but Ps4 was very anti crossplay and wouldn’t let you.

I can host a game on my Xbox, and on the same home network my kids can access the game via their iPads.

No game pass, gold, multiplayer subscription, nothing.
Just the game installed (and updated to the same version) on each device and away you go.

XB1 can cross play with Windows 10 Minecraft, Nintendo Switch, iOS, Android (and Fire Tablet).
Not PS4 or Minecraft: Java Edition last time I checked :-(

  • Do you need to have an xbox live subscription to play it?

    • +2

This game has both local and online play. You don’t need xbox live for a local play.

      Online Multiplayer? Yes.

      Local Multiplayer? No.

      Solo? No.

  • Will this work on digital XB1?

    • It's a digital download, what would be your best guess?

Thanks, kids already have this on disc, but will be nice not having to insert it all the time.

  • What about PC?
Is it better go get the Java edition or Win10 edition?

    • Apples to oranges. Java is the open version which can be modded and not littered with microtransactions but Bedrock has crossplay and purchaseable servers/“realms”.

Basically I’d say Java is for the more tech savvy while bedrock is good for kids or you just want to play a new looking vanilla version and not worry about making your own servers etc.

Thanks man! Just puchused one copy for my son

  • I have two kids with separate microsoft accounts, linked to the same xbox and under the same microsoft family account. I know that games purchased from the Microsoft store are available to both kids, but if I buy the key from cdkeys will both of my kids be able to access Minecraft through their account, or will it only be available to one account? I've only just bought an xbox so not sure how this works.

    • +1

Yes, your kids can play together at the same time on one xbox console.

As long as the Xbox is your home or main console, the game will run regardless of which account you redeem the game code on.

Back in the day I used to buy XBLA games via my US account, then switched to my main AU account to play the game, no problems.
