          Pro tips

From now, scan all receipts into Google drive. Takes like 5 to 10 seconds can do it right after you paid at the store.

          • @CyberMurning: Pro Pro tip.. Just take a photo of the receipt and put it in google drive

            • @Da dpG: That's what I said… Use the app… Scan = take photo then the app will flatten it… When the checkout chick works, open the app. She gave you the receipt, scan the receipt and say thanks I don't need it anymore hehehe

@CyberMurning: Been doing this for a couple of years - game changer :)

Last year at JB, they told me that they only accept their own digital receipts. I guess they're potentially dealing with big ticket items, so they need to trust the source

Must have got a turkey. Mine is over a year old and battery still going well

I thought the battery in mine had died (@~2yrs) so bought a replacement.
While I was chatting to the salesperson they mentioned they need oiling reasonably regularly, the extra resistance on the blades will load the motor and they'll stop within a minute or two due to its inbuilt protection circuitry, but the unit will seem to be dying due to battery aging/failure.

Went home, oiled the blade on the failing unit with a light machine oil and ran it for a few minutes to lube everything up….its still working fine over a year later. This is what it was for me, YMMV.

I returned the new one, unopened, the next day.

TLDR: Oil the blade, it may fix the "battery issue". As it's actually an inbuilt protection cutout due to lack of blade lubrication.

edit: Some extra info for those interested: IIRC When I first tried it, I had to gently wriggle the upper blade by holding the sides to assist the upper blade in starting to move. The strokes got longer and faster over the next few seconds till it was at the 'normal' operating speed.

If you remember how it sounds when running with fresh oil you'll know when it needs it again.

A light/thin oil application across the upper/lower blades contacting area and run it for 20secs before using it or putting it away. I wipe the blades with a tissue after the 20secs to remove the excess oil as it'll end up everywhere if you don't, but that's up to you - whatever floats your boat.

Have the older model (which works great) - can't see any actual improvements in this release, other than a 6mm wider blade.

Also it looks like the closest cut on this model is 0.7mm, the old model was 0.5mm. I'd call that a downgrade.

    • Couple of other differences I see is that it has a boost mode and it comes with combs up to 25mm (older model is 15) plus what looks like a case that holds everything for travel rather than just the combs.
If my older one did not still work I would certainly get this.

      • I use mine almost exclusively with no comb to trim my head (use a different shaver for the beard, so no need for the turbo mode). For other use cases I think you're right, worth getting the newer model.

In general they're quite good shavers, the unique blade shape is the best I've found for head shaving. And it really is water proof, have dropped it in a full sink before with no problems.

Any know if these are good for full shave of head ?

    • Yes, however you end up with a 'fine sandpaper' finish if you go guardless, youll need to blade or electric shave again afterwards if you want the complete 'smoove' finish.

They can also be used around the mini me and his 2 mates, but exercise caution as you can still nick the skin….getting…umm…"sacked" or "shafted" if you will.

    • mate.. im pretty sure that's exactly what they are designed for… shaving the head.. beard works fine too.. but the curved blade is for the noggin

    • Best clippers I've ever had for that.

This is useless for travelling as it has a proprietary charger. If they want to push this for travel why don't the release it with micro USB or type C charging ability? Maybe next year they will wake up with the next model?

  • Bought one at $63.99.
