      I did check that out. Was battery life the only major improvement between this and the $40~ upgrade?

        I think worth upgrading for the enclosed case as well. Dust etc gets in this one. Sound quality they are exactly the same. Battery life is only an improvement on total battery life (ie time in the case) not use time.
