  • An alternative would be to set up an ASUS router with VPN and USB NAS. Then you can use a browser to point it to download torrents privately straight to the USB drive to then stream later.

    • I had a quick squiz, it looks like a remote torrent & seed server (they seed 3:1 for you). So I suppose if you can trust them, it's pretty good because their IP does all the torrent work, so you can't get done. You just d/l the competed file.

I'm not quite sure of their business model.

Your instructions are all wrong. To be a pirate, you have to:
    1. Put on a skirt
    2. Attach your eye patch
    3. Sew a fake parrot onto your shoulder
    4. Say arrrrgggh me heartiest repeatedly

    • Downloading my high yield investment vehicle as we speak……..

  • How is this safe?

Your IP isn’t exposed to others in the swarm because their servers are doing the downloading, not your connection.

This is a simplified seed box.

The only risk is someone suing the company and the company giving the your ip that you used to connect to their site. They claim no logs, if true, that wouldn’t be possible.

      • Yeah cheers I had a look, it's an interesting service (if you use torrents). I thought when they said torrent downloading service that takes place in your browser they meant it was a browser based torrent client.

Even if they did get your IP, their server is doing the torrenting, so you're not seeding per se, thus your not distributing copyrighted material which is a serious offences compared to merely illegally obtaining copyrighted material.

        • their server is doing the torrenting, so you're not seeding per se

That’s not how it works. They’re providing you a service, they’re not responsible for your actions whilst using it. It would be in the terms that you don’t use it to pirate content.

Same as an isp isn’t responsible when your pirate on your home connection.

  • Averaging speeds of around 400KBps for completed torrents.

    I'ma try for a refund.

    • How do you know what the seeders you’re downloading from don’t have slow uploads?

      • Once the torrent's completed the entire file is on their server. Downloads should be restricted by whatever is your connection speed.

        • Ohhh gotcha. Thought you meant when the torrent was downloading, not the completed ones. Try multithreaded downloader like Aria2.

          • @PainToad: Ta, defeats the purpose of the service for me though. Was looking to use it on the hop with a tablet and EduRoam wifi.
