Personal opinion. Bookshelf speakers for the most part are always better than a soundbar, you can p[lace them better to suit your room and get a much nicer sound from them. Soundbars just look neater.
Can they be used together? We do karaoke at home and soundbar isn't enough, lol

Maybe someone can help. Who are they compared to logitech z906 or similar?
I own these and the Logitech z623s. The z623s have better bass but muddier upper range. They also have headphone jack, which comes in handy when the missus wants some silence. Finding a place for the subwoofer is also a bother.
At lower volumes though, the clarity of the Edifiers is superior. And it has built-in bluetooth and optical. But no headphone jack.
At $80, I would be going for these over anything from logitech at the same price (unless you're a bass freak).

They would do well compared to sub $100 soundbars too.
I've Z623's and on paper they do have bigger sound. 200watt RMS vs 42watt RMS and their sub is amazing. Hope these have better sound though.
Noob question: Is it possible at all to integrate these with a soundbar and have sound kind of passable surround sound set up?

no. You would need a surround sound amp that you connect all your devices up to, the soundbar won't be able to do this as far as I know. This would only work if your soundbar supported out for rear stereo speakers.
These are passive speakers btw, so not made to run with an external amp, they have an amp built in.
