  • this or xiaomi ?

    • I believe Segway is now owned by Xiaomi

      • Yes but would anyone be able to provide feedback on how they are compared to each other?

      • +1

Segway is owned by Ninebot. Ninebot is backed by Xiaomi, 2 different companies, same ecology.

    • If you are willing to spend similar amounts, the pro version of the xiaomi is better.

      • Hi guys,

        Roughly speaking:
        Segway ES2 = Mi M365
Segway ES4 = Mi Scooter Pro

The ES2 can be upgraded to an ES4 with an external battery.

      Hey SS,
Here are some quick pros and cons of the Xiaomi equivalents for you:

Air-filled tyres ride nice but can get punctures which are difficult to repair
Has a different look (see which you prefer)
Has disk brake but not regenerative
      Has more exposed wires
Has lower centre of gravity (good for stability) but no under lighting
Doesn't fold as flush as the Segway and you have to bend down to collapse it (Segway is a quick release pedal).

Overall they really just feel a bit diffrent and it comes down to preference.

      Hope that helps!

      • Nice summary

  • Rep are the issues with ES2 largely resolved in the latest model?

    • Hi Jabb,

Yes I believe they've made several improvements with the electronics in the latest iteration.

We also have 12 month warranty coverage as the official provider.

      Hope that helps!

      Sincerely,

      Nathan

      • Hey Rep,

Might not be your speciality but can I ask you if I'm allowed to take this on my holiday? Packed up in a luggage or just simply carry it or will it fit in a cabin bag ?

        • I recently took an electric unicycle to New Zealand. Put it in checked-in luggage as 'oversized or dangerous goods'. I didn't even have to take the battery out. But I believe some airlines require battery removal.

So it's definitely possible. You have to check the requirements with each airline though. They're great to have on holiday! (Scooters or otherwise).

          Sincerely,

          Nathan

      • How much is the es4? Is battery the only difference between these two? How much does the extra battery cost ?

        • Hi OZB. That's correct. ES2 + Battery = ES4. We're selling the battery for $249 at the moment.

  • Hi everyone. This deal is still running until the end of Cyber Monday, so get in quick!

    • Can you please do a really good deal on es4?
