Yes. And brighter.
Does having too many Smart devices slow down your wireless internet? I have about 16 devices (mostly light bulbs and google home) and I find that my 2ghz is pretty bad.
Install a wifi analyzer on your phone and check if a better 2.4ghz channel is available incase thats overlapping with nearby networks.
Ok, I have downloaded one and have no idea what I'm looking at 😂
I have used my macbook to find the most optimised channels (not sure if that's just applicable to the MB) and switched to those. Unfortunately my stupid MB can't connect to any 5ghz even though the signal is strong so kinda bummed. Sometimes I have to use my phones hotspot just to get use the internet on the laptop
You want appliances on 2.4ghz not 5ghz imo as it reaches further. To optimize the 2.4ghz channel based on recommendation from wifi analyzer app look for where they are numbered in your router wifi settings.
@Xizor: If I'm looking at it right, it looks like there's not much interference on the channels

Yup my smart devices are on the 2ghz channel, but for some reason my laptop refuses to connect to the 5ghz,it will either drop out or just connect and have no internet even though it's perfectly fine on my phone so it has to go on the 2 network.
@MeesusEff: There is another tab in the app that recommends which channel.
For 5ghz some devices dont like some of the channels, cant remember which may of been higher ones. Try changing channel to see if laptop behaves.
How do you switch WiFi channels anyways?
On your wifi router.
I recommend getting the google wifi mesh system. I have a similar set up to yours and it works very well.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/490773My signal is strong but speed is compromised. Would that help, I'm reluctant to get a wifi helper thing as I have a Taipan router and like to think for the price it should really be crapping gold lol
Do you have NBN? I have FTTN and get reasonable speeds. I have a TV in the theatre room which was about 12m away from the Modem and I was rely on wifi to watch 4K movies on Netflix, I could barely get it to load consistently. Then I got the google mesh and that fixed the issue instantly. Now I can easily stream 4K movies with wifi. I'm no IT guru but I believe this mesh system works differently to traditional routers.
@Hunter14: Yes FTTN. I'm on 50/20 as there's just 2 of us, I get close to the top speed on the 5ghz network, but my 2 is about 1/3-1/2 of the speed.
Speed is slow on the 2ghz network on my phone and laptop, but streaming Netflix on tv is alright, no buffering and husband hasn't complained about gaming.
Might be the router settings are not optimised and I wouldn't have a clue on how to do so (tried googling but all the tech language just sank me). But disappointed as my parents have the Asus rt68u and I find that's a lot better in terms of signal strength and drop outs.
Had the same issue and was driving me crazy. Bought a second router, everything non critical connects to the second router. TV's, Mobiles, Laptops connect to the main router.
Not support on Singapore server. Need to connect to China mainland server.
Is that just for this light or all Xiaomi? I have quite a few Xiaomi devices and all are working fine on the Singapore server
Just go search in your mijia app then. I have to set up Hass Io on a rpi for them to work together.
found it in the yeelight app
@razorite: Yeelight doesn't communicate with mijia app directly.
@nico8amy: so good for people who are only keen on smart lighting and nothing else
@razorite: Yes. That's why I didn't neg the deal. Good for ppl that want a smart home but think control a light from your phone is smart enough.
@nico8amy: Not sure what you are implying. I use Yeelight App to connect with Google Home App and then control my whole setup from multiple Google Assistant speakers and display. Works perfectly fine.
Is Mijia another app? I use Xiaomi Home and Yeelight and all light bulbs are on both, Singapore server
@MeesusEff: Mijia app only supports it's predecessor 9w vision.
I am using 15 of these bulbs while being connected to the Singapore server.
