Canon is too cheap to include a lens hood with their lenses so I recommend getting a cheap 3rd party lens hood for the 15-45mm lens. This is the one I brought and it works fine:

I ended up getting JB to "price match", they said it was $123 below cost but because it was Black Friday sales so they had a sales target to meet and every little bit helps. Not sure how true that is but at least if I have issues I can return it to them.
Hello, I saw a current deal on camera-warehouse.com.au, which expires 4Dec19 midnight (same deal as this one, $599 plus CanonAU rebate). CW Site says sold out but still available to buy, but JB HiFi Traralgon had no issue with price matching today (4Dec 12pm). Good luck!
