PCloud Cloud Lifetime 75% off - 2TB $245USD, 500GB $122.50USD Black Friday

70

Hi all,
PCloud regularly has 65% off their lifetime subscriptions, but very very rarely 75%. This shaves off e.g. $105USD from the 2TB lifetime option.
As such, snap it up while you can - they are rated one of the best cloud providers with excellent features, and appear quite stable.

Mod: Removed affiliate link.

This is part of Black Friday / Cyber Monday deals for 2019

  • Does this allow me to share files with family members? I.E people has login to use and get another 2 TB?

    • Its like dropbox in the method of sharing in which you can share to public.
e.g. this is me sharing a text file:

      • I wanted to get their Family 2TB + free pCloud Crypto for 75% discount. That should be around $350 USD but they some how calculated it as $500 USD. Kind of strange, 75% off of $1,400 would be $350.

        • 500usd is the normal discounted price of family 2tb year round. Essentially looks like they just throwing in free crypto for black Friday for this.
Though I still can't work out how it is better than several 2tb ones which give you more space.

          • @Rialonda: Can the 2TB plan be stacked or separate 2TB plans?

            • @ATD: Great question. Haven't tried myself. Could ask via their support email and then let us all know ;)

              • @Rialonda: Reading your comment, I thought you were using PCloud with multiple plans and would know the answer.

        • It's this a better plan for you?

2TB pCloud + pCrypto for $72 per year.

EDIT: Nevermind, it is just discounted for the first year

Completely unsustainable business model. Don’t trust your data with this deal.

    • You'd be gambling on this sticking around longer than 3 years for it to be worthwhile, but I wouldn't be trusting anything valuable to it.

We have deals posted about pcloud here from early 2016 and been around for around 5.5 years.
If you signed up to this then you likely already ahead compared to Dropbox.
It's also one of the more legit ones for those in the know.
And according to at least 1 article they are now considered profitable: https://www.google.com/amp/s/techcrunch.com/2019/04/16/dropb…

And there was a 100k bounty to crack their crypto product which failed https://www.pcloud.com/challenge/

        • They will remove your account and will give no explanation for removing your account!

    • Completely unsustainable business model

Why? What evidence do you have?

      • Why? What evidence do you have?

Selling something for less than it costs is the very definition of unsustainable.

The costs of storage providers are well known and these products are not sustainable once people start filling the storage they paid for.

        • The costs of storage providers are well known

So how much is the cost per terabyte over 1 year?

these products are not sustainable once people start filling the storage they paid for.

That's very big if condition right there.

Locally available disk is so much easier to fill than slow storage across the continent, yet how many people you know start filling up their hard disk to its full capacity as soon as they get it? Businesses like ISP, Telco, Data Center, Web hosting, Streaming Services will go bankrupt if they go by this logic.

Also this is a promotion price - not their regular price. Its one of the most cost-effective method of marketing and getting new customer onboard.

  • I've used pCloud for a few years, its been good for me. Yes, I did have concerns about the longevity of their business model but they've been good so far and they have a good reputation. In 20 years time, their 2TB allowance is going to seem minuscule - over that time frame, its a good business model for them. Particularly when you consider how many people buy deals but then never use them.

  • Another happy pCloud user here.

The NBN actually made the experience much better as I now have a decent upload speed. I also separately shelled out for the Crypto function a few months ago.

pCloud's customer support is also decent and helpful. The app and connectivity was fairly ordinary up until a few months ago, but has improved with subsequent updates.

Another nice feature is it's a virtual drive, so you aren't using disk/phone storage for the 2TB.

Any good for NAS backup like synology?

Their T&C is pretty generic… Have you reached out PCloud support for their justification to ban our account?

Keen to find out more before I purchase it…

Also find it interesting pCloud claims they and their affiliates can use "User Content" at their will permanently… Not good…

      • Yeah i contacted them and said i have genuine disc for Windows 10, but till now its not restored.

I think everyone should local encrypt and then upload the file.

        • Thanks for the response!

      • Thanks for taking the time to post that. Who on earth would use their services with such a term?? Certainly not me!
