  • Same price as the good guys. It's cheaper if you wait for a ebay 20% sale for them though.

  • I have this model and it's not worth it at this price. At around $100-120 better value.

    • What is this like next to a Gillette shaver, am I going to get a shave just as close without cutting myself?

      • What Gillette razor are you using ? I suspect compared to some of the disposables you'd get good results. Definitely not as close as a Mach 3, but I always got cuts, rashes and skin reactions to razors. It might be bad technique but I am now used to the convenience of dry shaving and it's super quick plus a close enough shave. I think if you're spending $174 you may as well get the Series 7, which start around $199(but parts are slightly more expensive).

        • Definitely the mach 3, the 5 blade cut way to close and the disposable just pull my hair.

Been thinking about dry shaving for a long time, can you use shaving cream with these as I have very sensitive/dry skin.

          • +1

@rflash101: You can, but I find that is time consuming for me. I have sensitive skin so I use a pre shave oil and that has reduced a lot of the irritation that I used to get with the pre shave powder. It's much less redder and I don't have as many pimples as a result. I recommend the pre shave oil as it has reduced a lot my skin issues post shave and gets a closer shave than I used to get with pre shave powder or completely dry.

Also in the Series 5 you get the same motor in all models in the range. As you go up in the range you get more - battery, display, and cleaning station as well the option to shave wet or dry. Pick the features you need and then pick a shaver. I've been told the Panasonic get the closest shave for an electric, but the Brauns are better for sensitive skin. I've only used a Remington and Braun, and the Brauns have killed the Remington but the Remington was a cheapie.
