I switched from Kogan to Boost and was surprised to see how quick the porting process was. It seemed like it was done in less than 10 minutes.
Normally you wouldnt complain about that but I was honestly surprised at how minimal the verification process was.
All I had to provide was information about myself (name, dob, address) and a driver license number and the rest was done.
It seems like if you had a hold of someone's driver's license card and knew their number, you could take their number without them knowing.
I was expecting some sort of SMS message to the original number while it was on the old provider for me to confirm porting or something.
Thought I'd start a discussion on this topic and see everyone's thoughts on the process?
i thought Boost (Telstra) requires PPV / sms confirmation code to initiate porting?
