I believe this is the lowest price it has ever been so far. Go for it. And yes, i know, it can't beat the bunnings drone deal.
DJI Mavic Pro $624 seems to be great value too.

Well, I ordered 1 so will see what happens :) Worst case scenario is order is cancelled.
From OW: We need to manually confirm your order - this should not take more than 30 minutes to confirm. Once this is completed, we will send you an order confirmation email and start fulfilling/processing the order.
And….still waiting for confirmation or rejection.
No more than 30 mins, lol, clearly not.
And order approved!
Refund emails went out not long after, I'm guessing not many actually got one for this price.
Don't really want one, but ordered anyway for the bunnings voucher.
lol'd
I got my mavic mini and love it. Tempted to get this, but laws soon changing to be required to register drones over 250g. I'll stick with my mavic mini ;)
These are all on backorder. Can't imagine it happening. Best of luck though.
do you reakon the spark is on bak orfer to? because i pretty sure everyone went for the pro
From what I can tell, there was only a handful of each actually available. I imagine the backorder available was flagged and the large number of orders has occurred. The stock more than likely won't happen. I wouldn't expect a bunnings level response either..
yeah got you ,thanks mate
Wouldn’t expect Bunnings response because internal culture is different or???
@NotAMoodle: Because there culture is typical and the Bunnings response was the abnormal blip in the Baragin-space continuum
Probably why I still shop at bunnings but not OW
:(
why list them like this then?
Why haven't they gone OOS? Officeworks clearly knows about it. Do you think any will be honoured?
It's a Sunday
lol things don't go oos on Sundays?
Yeah fair enough. I assume some orders will get through though? They might have say 200 drones for 5,000 orders?
OW shop fronts are open on sunday. The website is live on Sunday and still taking customers hard earned $$.
So what does Sunday have to do with a system that over sells a clearance item.
@stickymoo: computers observe the sabbath. A.I. is here
Obviously someone was working today to lower the price of the mavic pro. Didn't seem to be a problem then. Did they go home at lunch time?
@stickymoo: maybe it was their last day at work and this was a final f*** you to OW
@razorite: Took a page out of the interns book @ bunnings
Did not expect to order a drone today.
I ordered a drone today.
I am hearing you! And I am on the same boat. Likely to not have order for a drone approved today so then back to no change :)
My thoughts exactly.
Happy either way!
And no order fulfillment might be the best outcome ;)
Got a seat in your boat mate…
cannot add to cart :(
still works
i still can
Try incognition mode.
Maybe you have already ordered one thats why
thanks, legends!
What have I done ? My last drone was a $70 interior cheapy that I kept crashing.
Where will I sleep when my wife finds out ?
We're not getting this. 0% chance. No harm done.
dw most likely will get a direct refund haha
"Pesty" hahaha, similar experience.
Search for some deals on dog kennels or perhaps a used couch from the council cleanup :)
Time to test out the sofa recliner !
She just proudly told me she saved 6 cents/L on petrol. This is not going to end well if the drone comes
Do you need a licence to fly this drone?, and can you use it for drone fishing??
u dont need a lecense yet but it will be introduce in couple of months ,any drone more then 250g will need one , and yes you can do drone fishing but you need to buy the attachement for it, i would go for the mavic mini if i was you 249g so no restrictions, but you want be able to do the bait release fishing
with this one
Isn't the rule in Australia going to be any sub 2kg will need to be registered?
Drone? Fishing? How?
may as well not bother registering if you're going to go fishing with it. pretty sure it's against CASA regs to drop any object from a drone unless you have specific licenses and approvals which run into the $5000+ mark lol.
Told myself a few years ago I wouldn't buy any drone and here I am with 'Your order # 0000000 is confirmed'
That’s the same order number as mine!
Imagine for a minute these orders are actually fulfilled. We all hit the great outdoors to fly our drones. ozbargainers could almost block the sun with how many we'll have up there.
loool
Cue the LNP’s next solution to global warming…
16 minute fly time on the spark? The damn thing will be crashing back to land before I figure out what I'm doing.
DJI have their own stores with a net cage where they'll happily teach you how to fly them (at least they do in World Square, Sydney).
It will fly back to you automatically on low battery
I bought a couple of spare batteries but other than having to change them, the 16 minutes isn't that restrictive as you think unless you plan to be flying a lot.
Sounds like such a great deal for both, but after buying the Spark pack back when it launched and realising I have very little use for a drone in my life even if I force myself to carry it on trips, I'm going to exercise self restraint here!
exactly what I'm thinking haha…
Yeah what use besides aerial photography and videography?
You can also race them too. But I meant in my everyday life I ended up very rarely using my drone and then when I travelled it felt like a headache to force myself to use it. Granted I got excellent videos at some tourist locations eg waterfalls and mountains, but other than that I haven’t really had much use for it. Obviously YMMV and if you can make use of it then they’re great fun and a good deal but I just found I didn’t really need it in my life.
Self-restraint is the key, I can find no use of it and watching this thread and OW website where I have it in my cart, resist! lol
Buy now. Think later
Ordered 2 hours ago and now is backorder which Estimated collection on
Tuesday, 10th of December, 2019
With huge amount of orders at the moment, I'm not sure mine would be fulfiled…
All orders are on back order by the look of it. It'll be nice if they fulfil the orders, but hard to know if there is this much stock of the Mavic Pro available.
I actually got the all clear from the other half before ordering. A few hours and 8400+ clicks later I don't know why I bothered…..
the comments certainly don't reflect 8000 purchases
The deal is great, but it isn't phenomenal like the Bunnings error. The Bunnings deal was $298 for a Mavic pro 2, this is a old outdated Mavic pro. Hell, this was $999 on ebay for the fly more combo years ago, which I would say was a better deal as you got years out of it + the combo. So who knows, maybe they have a deal with DJI to clear all of the original/old stock. IDK if this is a pricing error, I mean $624 to clear old stock isn't dirt cheap, when you can get these all day long on ebay for around $900 (before you consider coupon codes). I doubt they do have the stock though.
The Bunnings deal wasn’t a deal - it was a price error that was honoured for the lucky few people that ordered prior to the price being fixed.
Sir. Show me a brand new one, buy it now for $900 before coupons on eBay.
@AjsGuns: But you said all day long. Cheapest I can currently find is $1000k+ on Ebay. This sale seems like an anomaly?
I dare say if this deal is honoured, you will see many on there for $700
@NotAMoodle: I have been looking on and off, they are often between $900-$1,000 brand new, unused. That one for $895 was 2 days ago and it was listed for at least 24 hours. Lots in the sold listings for $900-$950. Idk why people would buy them for $624 to sell for $700.
@AjsGuns: Same reasons this world is great to live in: We are all different.
8400 clicks =/= 8400 purchases , likely only a 20 - 30% purchase rate
Do Officeworks give anything in compensation for price errors?
A nice email say no bueno after 2 weeks
If we're lucky!
Are we still allowed to fly these things?
Could sell the Mavic 2 Zoom I got from the Bunnings deal and get 2 of these….hmmm.
Any cash back rewards for Officeworks???
think ill pass… i do dirt cheap for items i dont need… this needs to be another $150-300 off at least before id bite
Unfortunately same.
https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/offer-listing/B01LZWGS9L/ref=dp…
you can buy fly more combo at 899
Officeworks' one is already a fly more combo according to the Q&A section
box contains:
1x Aircraft(Intelligent Flight Battery and Gimbal Cover Included ) 1x Remote Controller 3x Propeller Pair 1x Gimbal Clamp 1x Charger 1x Power Cable 1x 16GB Micro SD Card 1x Micro USB Cable 1x RC Cable(Lightning Connector) 1x RC Cable(Standard Micro USB Connector) 2x RC Cable Slider
No it's not a fly more combo. It's the drone and controller.
You sure about that?
@Nathw: Yep, the fly more combo comes with an additional 2 batteries, multi battery charger, car charger and a carry bag in addition to all that you have listed.
A combo pack contains 2 extra batteries… This deal from OW don't seemed to have them…
From a brand new seller with 0 feedback.
suspect seller
Wow.. this deal from Amazon is actually better!!! Given that the 2 extra batteries and a 12% cash back!!!
suspect seller, would not touch.
Good Point.
