From my understanding the 1000 series is their lowest offering for OLED, and the LG C9 or even B8 is probably better?

Yes LG better overall but Panasonic is know for slightly better out of the box calibration, also has HDR10+ which has no content but still somthing good LG doesn't yet support.

From all the reviews it would seem for picture quality alone Panasonic is above LG. It's everything else like OS, HDMI 2.1, gaming features, etc that LG is better. There are quite a few Blurays now with HDR10+.

Bare in mind they are comparing the much more expensive GZ2000 to the c9, the GZ1000 which everyone buys isnt as good.

@noise36: The difference is very small anyway between them. Panasonic is a bit more accurate with colours and with PQ curve where as LG is a bit more vibrant with colours but oversaturates so can have a cartoony look sometimes. Panasonic is slightly better with near blacks, so a little bit less black crush for most dark scenes. 90-95% of the time you won't see a difference and even if you do its marginal. I would say if it's strictly home theatre usage with minimal smart features needed get the Panasonic, if you want to do a bit of everything get the LG.
