So wait, these are exactly the same as the ones sold by HP themselves a couple of weeks ago for $199? Did you guys just order a lot of them and are now selling them for $70 profit?

    • please reply to this op!!

      /me loads popcorn.exe

lol, buying and selling back to ozbargainers? now that would be a wet slap to the face

    • People who bought from HP directly (after seeing the previous OZB post) are not expecting to get them until September (mid September) - and that's an unconfirmed ETA.

The shipping date estimate has been delayed twice already. I talked to customer rep. this afternoon and the impression I was getting is that HP have no idea when they start building them.

  • From what I can gather off the original HP $199 thread, Dessytek was selling these prior to the HP promotion. It looks like HP is fulfilling retailer orders before consumer orders, hence stock availability here.

Not sure if their pricing has changed though

  • +3

not me Dessyteck, otherwise I would have post as a rep you fools.

just passing on the email I got.

    • +4

Ah, sorry, 'cause from the "so we can reserve a unit for you" it sounded like you were a rep. I see you've edited now to make it clear it was an email.

  • Can't give this a +ve, given the number of ozbargainers waiting for their individually ordered units at $199.

    • $199 delivered

  • $37.60 delivery to Perth as well. I'm pretty sure you're trying to scam the wrong crowd here Dessytek.

Hey Brutus are you a rep at all? It seems only a rep would post a deal as stupid as this

    • no Im not a rep, people missed out last some and considering how much sold on Ebay. I think $70 markup is so bad.

I got one last many other missed out.

      • +2

I also think $70 markup is so bad. I am glad we agree
plus you have to pay for shipping

        • isnt so bad

  • I m still waiting for mine from HP…. these shops must have bought bulk :(

Computer world selling this same model for $240, and Flat $19 delivery charge anywhere in Australia for any quantity.
    HP MICROSERVER AMD-N36L 1GB 250GB:

just did a quick search on staticice….

    • yeah it doesn't hurt to check before posting.

      Sorry Op, no bargain!

    • They may even waive the $19 delivery if you ask - they did for me

  • +1

this is a good post, it is only good for who got the first bite $168.16…. haha good price back then, not more bargain…. haha……

  • -3

no bargain. as stated previously even HP were selling it for 199 which I think they will again soon at a even lower price. So I would wait for the price to drop then to buy from these retailers which bought bulk from HP then mark the price up..

    • +1

No way, they sold like hotcakes at the $199 price point to get rid of there old stock very unlikley they will do it again unless one of there suppliers cant sell theres.

  • +4

Ahh so now we found the person/company who ordered the 60….

Yeah you're right. It's not very secure.
    some guy ordered 60 units!!!

  • why does it state this on the website ?

"Do you have a store, can I make a pickup?
DessyTek is an online only store. All products are shipped directly from our local Australian suppliers via courier. Unfortunately most suppliers do not allow direct customer pickups."

    Are you a Supplier ?
How did you pick up, if there us no Address mentioned ANYWHERE… ?

    • It's called dropshipping dude! ;)

      • -1

Thats not called Drop-shipping DUDE, Its called Will Call…! Sheesh Stewie lmao

        • "DessyTek is an online only store. All products are shipped directly from our local Australian suppliers via courier. Unfortunately most suppliers do not allow direct customer pickups"

Six of one, half a dozen of the other…effectively same business model, different delivery method; however, if as the bold bit implies you apparently can't actually 'call' on them to pick it up then it's no longer Will Call, it's back to dropshipping, now isn't it!

I dunno what this "Sheesh…lmao" crap is all about either; if you know so much then why ask the question in the first place when the Brisbane pickup location was clearly stated???

    • ANYWHERE?

      it clearly states:

      Product Description

PICKUP AVAILABLE - Brisbane (Upper Mt Gravatt)
Email if you would like to make a pickup so we can reserve a unit for you.

Ignoring the ethics of buying other bargains and reselling them for 30% markup (business is business after all) the bottom line is that these have been available for as low as $160 in recent months, HP direct for $199, and plenty of other places around the $220 mark. Not a bargain at all.

    • Not if you have access to a time machine.

      • +1

freddy can you link to the OzBargain time machine buy, I missed it

  • +2

this would be more of forum material since it's not a bargain.

  • Dessytek sold them for $168 in May, HP was $199 2 weeks ago, Computerworld for $240 this week…I think it's time to get over the whole microserver thing and stop posting them as "bargains" until someone sells them for around $170 again.

    • -1

yep…. over $250 plus postage isnt a bargain.

  • +2

This is just advertising, not a bargain.

STOP POSTING THESE UNLESS THEY ARE $199 OR LESS. SIMPLE…

  • -1

    not a bargain move on…

    • -1

Agreed, $169.00 was a bargain, this is just pure profiteering.

Personally, I am over the HP micro server missed all the sub $200.00 deals, had my HP order cancelled.

  • -3

compared to the RRP this is still a bargain and no point advertising a lower price if they have no stock ;-)

in the end the mod can close this down for all I care

it was just supposed to be a heads up where you can still get some for all that missed out. Not a debate what price is a bargain or not.

Anything under the RRP is a bargain.

    • -1

      Retail Rip-off Price

    • -1

take it easy mate… no need for name calling. we are entitled to our opinion and vote accordingly, dont take it personally. and btw, your arguement to what constitutes a bargain is way off.

      • -1

edited: name calling has been removed.

        • -1

          *sigh

gee i wonder where that neg came from :).

  • +1

People should remember that when this was $199 it created massive interest, and a lot of people missed out.
This is something hundreds of dollars cheaper than other options, not some silly iPhone app discounted by 99c.

So even though the price has gone up, it was still a worthwhile post. It is these massive savings that makes ozbargain worthwhile, not all the trivial ones. Unless you know somewhere cheaper now, there is no reason to be so hard.

  • Hi guys - we have a handful of these left for sale and they will go out on Friday / Monday. I don't typically hi jack threads but seeing as this was started by a user as opposed to a rep. We don't have enough stock to start an independent thread either.

$235.00 plus shipping or free local pick up in Campbellfield.
