@aragornelessar: Ah right. Didnt notice they were referring to the gold 'steelbook'.

Both will get u something gold (digital case and/or physical case) ^^,

  • order updated to this price. But estimated delivery is on the 20th - 25th… sad…

    • Which delivery method did you choose? Just out of curiosity

      • i chose the prime free delivery.

        • when did you order?

  • +1

Random question, but how does cashrewards/shopback work when there is a price change on a pre-order item?

    • Wonder if it gets cancelled

    • You don't actually get charged until the item ships.
So I'm guessing the cashback would be based off what you get charged

      • But your cashback would have been tracked based on your initial shopback transaction (so when you've pre-ordered) even though you haven't actually paid for it yet.

The reason for my question is that I utilised an amazon shopback increase and I would hope that I still get the higher shopback % rather than the standard %.

        • +1

It tracks the initial transaction (so you get whatever % rate at that time) but the final order amount is not confirmed by Amazon to CR/SB until it is paid for and shipped. Otherwise you could have just cancelled the pre-order and still got cashback.

  • +1

Is it sad that I want Amazon to price match JB just to save an extra 10 cents?

    • no we don't judge. if you think it's worthwhile to you, go for it. the operator on the other end might roll their eyes but will oblige.

    • No - This is OzBARGAIN. Not OzPAYMORE

  • My order is still showing $62.10 and Amazon chat said they couldn't apply the discount to my current order. They wanted me to reorder it but I used a gift card originally and don't have the code anymore. Did anyone have any luck getting Amazon to apply the $5?

    • If you cancel, it should be refunded back into your gift card balance: https://www.amazon.com.au/balance
You should be fine to cancel and reorder, you don't need the code anymore. (Note: store credit is different to gift card credit)

    • +1

Just to confirm, my my order page it still says "$62.10" as well against the product itself, but the little grey bar above the order says "Total: $57.10". If I click the "View or edit order" button to the right, the Order Summary section has the product price, minus the $5 itemised out.

Worth double checking before you cancel it :)

  • Amazon's response :

    Hello ,

    Greetings for the day!

I understand your concern as your item "Pokemon Shield (Nintendo Switch)" price has decreased from AU$ 69.00 to $62.10 on our website.

I'd like to inform you that, We consistently offer competitive prices on everything we carry; however, the prices on our website are subject to change in regular intervals.

While the Amazon.com.au website has accurate pricing information, we don't honor price matches on the orders placed on our websites.

Please don't worry, I've checked your association with Amazon and see that your a valuable customer of our firm and we don't want our customers like you to face any hassles.

In order to help you out, as an exception I've issued the difference amount of $ 6.9 promotional certificate to your Amazon.com.au account, which will automatically apply the next time you order an eligible item sold and shipped by Amazon.

The promotional certificate doesn't apply to items offered by other sellers on the Amazon.com.au website and won't cover the purchase of gift wrap or additional shipping costs.

Your promotional balance doesn't appear in Your Account, but will always display at checkout when you place an order through the Shopping Cart for an eligible item shipped and sold by Amazon.

As you have also mentioned about the $ 5 Pre-order discount, I checked the order details and see that the $5 discount is applied on your order as "Prime Savings" which indicates the Pre order discount.

You can check that in your order details.

I hope this helps! We look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Have a nice day ahead!

    Kind regards,

    • Wow, I'm surprised to see this in a template response:

      your a valuable customer

  • Mine hasn't updated for $68 yet either..

  • Hi guys, sorry for asking thia question this is my first time preorder game from Amazon. Is it physical copies or digital download? And are we receiving a download code Gold Studded Leather Case for your Pokémon Trainer in this preorder? Thank you

    https://www.reddit.com/r/pokemon/comments/dv438w/complete_li…

Hmm kinda thinking of cancelling my pre-order. 14-18 hours is kinda ridiculous. Spoiler warning it's just a compilation of perceived shortcomings of the game.

    • What?? The whole game is 14-18 hours???

      • Ok I'm reading and i think I might cancel too.

      • I haven't played pokemon in many years but isn't that around the same time it took to beat previous games?

        • +1

I haven't played since the red blue days but I can't really remember. I cancelled as I was on the fence anyway, if it sounds like it's alright I'll pick it up down the track.

        • +1

Nah used to be 40-50 hours.

The most recent ones (Sun/Moon) were maybe 30 hours.

          • @Circly: Bit shorter then that for sun and moon pretty sure I finished at around 20 hours, pointless cut-scenes and explaining pointless futures added extra time. the ultra games were even worse somehow.

            • +1

@mrend55: Yeah you are right 30 would be pushing it for S/M.

I suppose the writing was on the wall given how much content they stripped out of S/M going '3D'.

Going to new hardware must have really stretched their underfunded and under resourced team. Not to mention that they aren't to good with the software side of things.

    • Just the info I have been looking for. Thanks for posting! Not gonna order now

    • +2

I don't see how 14-18 hours is ridiculous, everyone seems to be okay buying shorter games for way more than the price of this one (last of us,mario odyssey) and honestly I would rather a shorter game (14 hours does not seem too short to me but whatever, plus this the estimated time length be from that one guy who rushed the game without doing any of the side stuff so that obviously adds time) than one that does not know when to end like dragon quest 11.

a few of the latter points should be the main points of concern, especially point number 7. sounds like it is more handholdey game which ruined sun and moon for me, it's a pokemon game it's not that hard. Whats the point of all this handholding and a million of unskippable cut-scenes that focus on dreadful Pokemon stories.

      • I'm not sure how quickly you finished Mario Odyssey, but there was heaps of post game content

    • Pokemon Blue is less than 2 hours https://www.speedrun.com/pkmnredblue

      • Haha for a speed run. Tell that to 10 year old me.

Catching pokemon/legendaries, grinding, figuring out what to do all takes time.

The newer games are much more linear and have less things to figure out yourself.

        • Yeah I'm just kidding. I put at least 60 hours into Blue to catch all the Pokemon.

  • +1

Grabbed the bundle (last one) even though it said sold out on the link. Cheers. I was originally going to preorder through eb but missed out.

  • Down to an even $57 down ($62 before the preorder bonus)

  • +1

Does anyone's order say shipped yet ?

    • +2

      nope :(

    • +2

Not yet, might just get it at JB, last time i pre-ordered a switch game at amazon it was not sent out early enough to arrive on time…

      • +1

Thinking the same. What's the Big W price?

I can only find $62.10 - but it says Online only.

        https://www.bigw.com.au/product/pokemon-shield/p/53580/

Edit; Just spoke to Live Chat - they said Post out late tonight, with Australia Post delivering, So I've cancelled my pre-order, don't trust Aust. Post.

        • +1

Have you got a JB where you live? you can order online for click and collect. Looks like I'm waiting until Monday for mine no way Aus post gets it here in time.

          • +1

            @mrend55: I do indeed.

I jumped onto Live Chat again and they said their warehouse is in Melbourne…I'm in Sunshine, so I'm ASSUMING it'd be here tomorrow.

    • +2

Most Amazon game pre orders always ship on Thursdays via express post.

  • Price dropped by 10c down to $57.00 (from $57.10) for Prime. Nice.

I cancelled my preorder and redid it with the Shopback bonuses ($2+$5).

Hope I don't regret it but I noticed on the new order email it says:
    Arriving:
    Monday, November 18 -
    Tuesday, November 19

(whereas the original email said Friday).

    :(

    • same thing just happened to me, originally had to all setup and paid for 3 weeks ago, apparently they had payment issues, selected my card which was already on file nothing changed… went through now it says tuesday. Cancelled order, going instore to big W to pick it up tommorow. Bullocks

  • Where do OzBargainers sit on the whole axing of the National Dex dilemma? Curious to see if it will actually change anyone's mind from buying it.

    • +4

I’m not happy about Dexit but I’m more pissed about other issues, especially with graphics, story and gameplay. I just wanted something new and different (and challenging). My dream was to have Pokemon cross Zelda BOTW where you make your own adventure, explore a massive open world, have side quests, collectables, etc. That would have been absolutely perfect for me, and could’ve been a 200+ hour game. But instead we have the same 20 year old formula and basic story in HD. And it feels even more simple, easy and childlike than ever before.
I still love Pokemon and I’m sure I will enjoy the 10-20 hours this game will offer, but I was hoping for so much more for the first Switch Pokemon game. But alas, it’s Gamefreak, I should’ve known…

    • +2

Honestly doesn’t bother me. It doesn’t have to have a complete Dex for me to enjoy the game. Besides there’s so many Pokémon now that I don’t necessarily need every old one in there because otherwise I’m less inclined to explore and try new things.

  • +1

Both my orders (Sword and Shield) went down to $57.10.
Sword got the extra drop to $57 but Shield got stuck at $57.10.
They are both now showing as pending transactions ($57 and $57.10) on the credit card.

  • Mine still stuck at $63 ($68-$5). Amazon support said not to worry but I've got a pending $63 charge on my bank account now.

  • +1

mine was scheduled for delivery today but push back to tomorrow.

  • My order was posted today and says arriving Tuesday November 19th.

    WTF Amazon!?

    Anyone else seeing the same?

    • Me too.

    • Me too. Very weird as usually ships in the afternoon about now, but uses express and still arrives Friday.

It could be reporting incorrectly as well, maybe with a default ship on Thursday afternoon answer?

The auspost app is erroring for me so maybe it's not feeding back to Amazon either?

    • +1

Me too. What's the point of preordering months ago? Ffs. I hope it's just a system error.

    • Hello,

We thought you'd like to know that we've shipped your item(s). Your order is on the way, and can no longer be changed. If you need to return an item or manage other orders, please visit Your Orders on Amazon.com.au.

      Arriving:
      Tuesday, November 19

      Sadface

    • If you go deeper into the order, it still says delivered tomorrow by 11pm even though the main part says Tuesday delivery.

Also they are loading onto Australia Post and showing express delivery.

      • Usually to reach me in Townsville they post out Thursday using Toll Priority. This time and two weeks ago they post out Thursday using Australia Post express which they know as no hope of getting here. I managed to persuade them to give me $40 promo credit since this is the second time in two weeks, and I'll pick up a copy from JB Hifi tomorrow and when the Amazon copy arrives return that to JB.

        Complete nonsense though…

  • I've emailed them about it so we'll find out…

    • Mine says ; Arriving tomorrow by 11 PM

      Edit; On with live chat the guys says ;

Juttu:Upon checking the details I see that due to huge demand, we couldn't ship the item on time and that is the reason why it was delayed.

For it to be here tomorrow, one would assume it should be "out for delivery" by now.

Edit; Got an e-mail about Fallen Order being shipped, now just waiting on Pokémon Shield. - received email about Shield.

      • Complete nonsense. They used to ship to me in Townsville using Toll Priority which has no problem arriving the next day. This and also two weeks ago for Luigi's Mansion they chose Australia Post Express intstead which takes at least 2 days.

  • Just got an update via email saying it’s shipped with an estimate of Tuesday the 19th of November. Original date was supposed to be tomorrow but oh well.

  • I'm on live chat with a rep now.

    The pre-order pages specifically say:
"Want it delivered the day it's released? Choose FREE Expedited Delivery at checkout."

And in my order confirmation it says:
"Arriving: Friday, November 15. Your delivery option: Expedited Delivery "

But the Amazon rep is trying to tell me this, which I disagree with:

"I've just reviewed your order details and see that your order is estimated for the delivery on: Tuesday, 19 November 2019. As you have selected the standard shipping speed, the original speed would be 3-5 bussiness days.
Please don't worry, you will receive your item on or within the estimated delivery date"

After giving the above info, they've responded with:

"I'v checked with my resources and see that there are huge volume of orders on this item so we got an update from the carrier department that there might be slight delay in the delivery for these orders.
However, please don't worry, our 1st priority is to deliver the item on the release date.
I'll take the all required actions from my end to deliver your item as early as possible. "

    • I would get back on them and demand compensation.

      • +2

I'm not going to get up the rep too much in live chat, not their fault. I just thanked them for their time and emailed through to their support for a full explanation as to the why, gives them a bit more time to look and find out.

Doesn't bode well for my Cyberpunk 2077 preorder with them though.

        • You're very courteous and that will go a long way. Hope you get it on time. Keep us updated.

Just FYI. I did order early on Tuesday morning and have the delivery estimate for Friday tomorrow on release day. Located in NSW Sydney metro if that is anything to go by.

          • @sleet: I ordered around then also. Brisbane Metro here. Tracking says it's express post, and Auspost has received shipping information, but no scans, so don't think it'll be sent til tomorrow at this rate.

        • +1

Auspost has delivery estimate of tomorrow. So maybe we're in luck!

  • +1

    shipped for delivery tomorrow here

    • My amazon still says tuesday, but as auspost get the first real tracking its showing tomorrow

      • edit; never mind.

      • Same. Hopefully makes it.

    • +3

Ordered 3 weeks ago and I have an expected delivery date of Monday to WA. Pretty disappointing but not a lot that can be done.

Really don’t like these end of week release dates when it comes to preorders.

      • Same hoping it's a mistake

        • Fingers crossed for the both of us

      • That really sucks - have you received a tracking number?

I ordered on 10 Oct and it shipped yesterday via Express Post

        • Posted yesterday by Express Post. Just checked the tracking this morning and as of 7pm yesterday my parcel hasn’t left Victoria yet :(

          • @sandshrew: Fingers crossed for you! It should update with "onboard for delivery" if you get an update today!

            • @currentfad: Thank you :)

Will just have to live in hope Australia Post are more efficient than I give them credit for

  • Hello ,

I'm Harika from Amazon customer service.

I'm sorry for the inconvenience caused with the order #xxxxxxx.

Upon checking, I see that the estimated delivery date for the order is Tuesday, 19 November 2019 . Please be assured that your order will be delivered to you by then.

I really appreciate your understanding and patience in this matter and hope that you give us another chance to serve you better.

We look forward to seeing you again soon.

    Kind regards,

  • Located in SA, estimated delivery Monday. Still kinda crossing fingers that it'll come today.

    • Scratch that it's on board for delivery today! Goodluck everyone!

  • Mine hasn't even been shipped. Prime is sure worth the money. :)

  • +1

    I'm impressed Amazon.

Just got mine from a lovely Gent just then, guess they didn't cancel it after all.

  • Yep my amazon shipping has also changed from today to Monday being delivered :(

  • Mine was previously saying Tuesday delivery also, however it just updated about an hour ago and apparently it's out for delivery today (I live in Brisbane) yay.

  • lol I ordered sword on the 26th Oct and the ETA is now 19-20th and placed an order for shield this Tuesday for my friend.
Shield was shipped yesterday and arrived today, still waiting for sword to be shipped.

    • I feel like if you preordered it early, they like… forget about it.

  • Well. My order isn't arriving until (at least) Monday. Rang auspost and of course they couldn't care less.

How do I get on live chat with Amazon? The app only gives me the option to call or email.

    • Use a computer and go to their contact us page. Fill in the appropriate details (e.g., where's my stuff? -> delivery date was changed", and you'll get an option at the bottom to have a live chat). Make sure you quote that when you ordered the game, it was advertised to be delivered on game release, and you would probably get $10-20 amazon credit from it.

  • Just got mine, Sydney metro. Got notification from Amazon saying it was shipped last night at 6:21.

  • +3

Ordered when this was posted. They ended up sending me 2 copies and they told me to keep the extra copy :-/

  • +1

I don't know how the rest of you manage to get compensation - Amazon have refused to give me anything for the inconvenience! and that's with Prime paid annually upfront.

  • Talking to Amazon now - apparently orders to WA delayed due to bushfires

    • +1

odd… excuse my ignorance but i would've thought the bush fires would be delaying the post aus wide? some users have commented they've received in Bris, NSW and SA

      • I'm just going by what the Amazon rep said. I ended up cancelling (since it hasn't been delivered yet) and getting for $5 more from JB.

    • They told me it was low stock.
