Did my bit to help the local economy today by picking up one of these (in blue). I bought it as a second body, however it would (in my view) be suitable for anyone looking to step up to an interchangeable lens camera from a smartphone without too much jargon and added complexity.

For a hobbyist, the OM-D E-M10 III that has been posted in recent deals would be a better choice.

DigiDIRECT sells the BLS-50 battery at $77.00 on its own. $50 MasterCard gift card via redemption if purchased by 22 November 2019. A black Olympus-branded leatherette pouch was also included.

DigiDIRECT's usual price is $849.00. RRP $1,099.95 lol

An E-PL10 has been announced overseas, however it appears to be a very small incremental upgrade and hasn't been launched here yet.

  • Bought a Canon M50 yesterday, no idea how it compares to this Olympus given very similar price points.

    • I’ve never used any of the mirrorless Canons however, on paper the Canon has a larger sensor, more megapixels and may focus quicker. Olympus has in-body image stabilization (Canon uses in-lens) and a much wider range of lenses (from Panasonic as well). The M50 is more comparable to the E-M10 III, given that it has a viewfinder.

      • Cheers, thanks for your input. It would have been too late to change my mind anyway.
