Did my bit to help the local economy today by picking up one of these (in blue). I bought it as a second body, however it would (in my view) be suitable for anyone looking to step up to an interchangeable lens camera from a smartphone without too much jargon and added complexity.
For a hobbyist, the OM-D E-M10 III that has been posted in recent deals would be a better choice.

An E-PL10 has been announced overseas, however it appears to be a very small incremental upgrade and hasn't been launched here yet.
Bought a Canon M50 yesterday, no idea how it compares to this Olympus given very similar price points.
