HP ProLiant N36L MicroServer Is Back! $240 from ComputerWorld

26

if you want one I'd pay Credit card as last time I saw these I paid Direct Deposit & missed out!

They have 150 ~ 200 Units on order from HP, if the is correct then the HP Au site may list these again, they were cheaper from there site.!

My mate has just put his last 3TB HDD in the unit, now has 5 X 3TB Internal & 3 X dual 2TB USB3.0 Raided Dual-Bay Icy-Box units (145MB/s) raid 0 (Model IB-RD4320STU30B), currently well over 25TB total in 1/2 of the space of a Mid-tower PC and 1/3 the power consumption!!

"Tentatively we are expecting for stocks to arrive by mid-August 2011 and delivery will be scheduled therein after."

      • Seeing as this is HP's response to me after the Tech promo.

wow.. wasn't HP selling these for 199 with free shipping?
Smart move. Buy up HP's stock, resell it and make 40 bucks on it.

Aren't things supposed to go down in price after time

Dessytek sold them for $168 in May, HP was $199 2 weeks ago, so I fail to see how this is a bargain…

    • Bingo..

I purchased from cworld a few years ago when they went bust.
They were totally unprofessional and made promises to me and other customers that they didn't keep
They've since reopened again with another gamily member at the helm.

8 spindles giving 145mb/s is actually quite poor with 0 redundancy. If 1 drive dies goodbye to all data. I have seen these units in action and they are no powerhouse. But at $200 its not designed for performance, cheap entry level machine.

  • Hi,

I have tried to purchase one of these from 3 separate places and all have ran out of stock, so they could list it for a $1 but if they have none then it's not a barging is it. they have stock & are less than 50% off the RRP that's in my book a barging!
