These guys suck. Used to be good but they cut down the size of a lot of their meals and kept/upped the pricing. I was a regular customer until reading about the changes, I didn’t want to risk it up until a week ago when I gave it a chance and regret it. The meals are small, even their largest ones (450g) will leave you hungry after an hour.

The macros are questionable - some of the meals I’ve had, if not all of them, have had small amounts of meat. One meal claimed to have like 70g protein but there was a tiny amount of meat which I decided to weigh at 60g. Not sure where all that protein comes from.

Stay away unless you desperately need something to eat, have a small appetite and don’t mind being ripped off

I've recently switched from youfoodz to this, so it's definitely an improvement. What would you suggest is a better alternative to muscle chef?

      • I’m not sure, I’ve been eyeing macros.com.au but can’t seen to find any reviews

As you know meat is only one source of protein so makes sense why it may have only made up 60 of the 70grams if that is all you weighed.

Still believe best way forward is to cook in batches and freeze if you after value for money

Absolutely - like with any of these meal companies, this is for convenience and I reckon it tastes not bad too :)

      • Yes.. how much protein do you think is in 60g chicken? And do you think the rest can be made up by noodles? Nope. Their meals are dodgy, the macro breakdown isn’t correct and I’ve heard quite a few people have missing ingredients from their meals or ingredients in there that shouldn’t be.

        • Not sure why you only think meat is the only protein source. Majority of their meals I've eaten also contain a fair amount of lentils, chickpeas etc. mixed with the chicken.

          • @anonymous888: I’m referring to a specific meal, not one that could contain protein from other sources. One meal was Asian chicken stir fry. 68g protein but had 1/3rd of the amount of chicken a smaller meal with supposedly less protein content had. Could the noodles and few pieces of carrot make up most of the protein? I don’t think so.

If anyone’s serious about what they’re eating and trying to track macros for a cut etc these meals are bad cause the nutritional info isn’t correct. Don’t know what’s going on behind the scenes but they’re seriously lacking in the QA department

    • Veggies and legumes contain protein too :)

Lentils are about 10% protein, for example

      • See my comment above :)

Just started using them last week.

    So convenient and decent food.

    Highly recommend!
