The Google Home sounds better. It helps that you get an equalizer with the G home. The Sony speaker has no way of adjusting the sound. On the plus side, they have NFC, if that's your jam.
I haven't this device but my other third party speakers do now have Bass/treble equalisation via the Google home app (this didn't used to be the case), so I'd guess this does too now.
No, still no equalizer via Google Home App.
Had one for a few days before taking it back due to not liking the sound signature - to me it sounded a bit muffled.
I found the gesture control to be a bit flakey.
Clock functionality wasn't useful to me - you can set the brightness with the home app.
I'd just grab some Nest mini's
I have both.. This sounds better than Google home, but lack of equiliser does sucks.
Not another price error?
Like all reviews, gesture control is quite bad. I really think the LED clock is extremely helpful. No longer need to ask Google for the time. It's also less bright than the night light I'm using for my toddler which is a plus.
You can set the brightness and even a separate Nightmode so it will lower volume/brightness when at night (you can choose start and end hour).
Not as good as this deal
Finding one was close to impossible though…
I've got one - thinking of getting another so I can link them.. hmmm
To be fair after owning it for few months it's really bad. Doesn't understands the question and confuses my wife's voice for mine etc… And home minis doesn't do any of those. The only advantage is sound quality is better.
How is this compared to normal Google Homes - I was going to pick up a Home & a Home Mini, primarily to play music and control my lights.
