The only exclusivity I see from this deal is the kit setup. The tools themselve can be found at other tool retailers.
Total tools have it for $279 with free delivery if you need delivery.
Thanks for the heads up. Ordering from total tools as I can't order the one from Bunnings online.
Makita prices seem to be tightly controlled across the big stores. Some bagains from eBay sellers tho.
Don’t fall into the trap of thinking the DHP485 is better than the DHP481. The 485 is a plastic encased chuck, the 481 is metal.
The 481 is crap too. Mine is hard to release after less than 2 hours use.

That's a 22 minutes video. TLDR please

There you go, spoon fed.
Noob handyman here. What’s the significance of having of a plastic encased chuck?
The chuck can contact surfaces unintentionally, plastic tears up far more easily. Have a look at a tradie's drill next time you're walking past and look at the score marks on the chuck.
Just bought the same combo kit from local Bunnings at Rockdale NSW. They still have half a dozen in stock. Was going to purchase the Ryobi brushless drill driver kit (not hammer drill) which includes one 2.5Ah and one 5.0Ah batteries for $269, but decided to pick up this Makita kit instead. Now need to look for sale/bargain on extra Makita batteries.
Let us know if you find any good deals.
I'm also looking for drill bits.
The only Makita 18V battery being discounted is the pathetically small 1.5Ah one. Need at least 3Ah or bigger capacity.
Standard disclaimer here, don't compare these prices to what you see at Total Tools and other power tool sellers. Bunnings get exclusive models of most Makita tools, with the difference being that the Bunnings exclusives are built to be cheap, and therefore aren't the same quality. Whether this is an issue or not for you, depends on your needs, but it's something to keep in mind.
