This model appears to be the Amazon Kindle 8 (Reference: here and here). Not to be confused with the latest Amazon Kindle 9

  Yeah the light up screen makes a world of difference. Can't recommend this when for a little more you get a much better model

    I believe the major difference is the built-in front light on the Kindle 9.

The Paperwhite models have a much better screen, and aren't much more money: they go for around 150 on sale, I highly recommend going for the Paperwhite offer the basic model.
