+ salt + butter if you want it to taste good
+ effort, don't forget that. Lazy people like me enjoy putting a bag in the microwave, pressing start and being done.
I suppose someone doesn't like the natural approach :-) BTW, is it really butter you're consuming or some Frankenstein oil?
To be honest I don't really care. I don't eat this crap to be healthy, so in moderation I think my body can handle whatever this 'Frankenstein oil' is ;)
my body can handle whatever

Did it just get hot in here?!
I still can’t replicate movie style popcorn at home despite the various recipes online. These microwave popcorn bags are the closest I can get if I want it hot, or I go for the Cobb’s butter favour if I can go without it being hot.
Have these popcorns in moderation.
The jury is divided on the ill effects, but in moderation should not be an issue.
Source: Our family GP suggested to stop eating the bagged popcorn, and research suggested that there might be some truth.

Just trying to help.
Personally used to love the smell of microwave popcorns, but now just cook the traditional way. While moderation is good advice for anything, they say on the pack that they don't contain the Diacetyl that is linked to popcorn lung.. in any case I think it was an issue for workers surrounded by the stuff, not the consumer having an bag here and there.
(I just read through a bit further into that page you linked, they say most manufacturers stopped using Diacetyl in 2007.
I also had to shake my head at "Yet one Colorado man reportedly developed the condition after eating two bags of microwave popcorn a day for 10 years.")
Anyone else side tracked researching microwave popcorn makers? Any recommendations?
I used to just put kernels in a paper bag which worked well enough once you got the timing right for your microwave. Haven't tried any of the microwave popcorn bowls. Switched to a zippy pot now since it's easier to get flavouring mixed through evenly but still have some microwave popcorn bags on hand for when I can't be bothered.
This is what happened to me on the last popcorn deal. I was intrigued by this comment's suggestions.
I have found this better
Pop-corn is so easy to make on the stove.
- Two tablespoons of coconut oil.
- Heat up oil, Add one or two kernels, once they pop, add the rest.
- Put the lid on to trap the steam, when the popping slows down to a minimum take off the heat.
- Add salt
Enjoy!
