  • Every caravaner should get one of thee so they can hero worship the truckers even more.

    • Serious question: what do truckers use these for these days? Like if they need to speak with their 'dispatcher' or whatever you call it, they could presumably just use a mobile phone.

Talking to escort vehicles, spreading the word about speed-traps and vehicle inspections, chatting about overtaking moves, general gasbagging to break the boredom…

Keep in mind the majority of the country doesn't have phone reception..

        • Makes sense!

So they can whine like schoolgirls at every little thing that bothers them. Sooks

And I doubt too many caravaners worship truck drivers, I can tell you caravaners are a great source of truckie gripes. Its funny hearing a truck driver whine about how the slow vehicle in front of him is holding him up, and then 5 minutes later whine about how a car is impatient behind him and how everyone owes him a debt of gratitude because it all stops without them. They forget, they never made what it is they carry. But logic is often not their strong point.

          Oh the lols of ch40

          • @Tuba: Yes but you have to remember they are professionals LOL. As for hero worshiping you obviously haven't been on any caravanning pages on Facebook.

Haha, 13km range. I get about 2km line of sight on a good day with my 5w units.

This comes really handy if you are driving in groups. Recently used a unit from a friend and until I use it I did not realise how easy it is. I was always under the impression mobile phone is better. With these you can quickly communicate with others without waiting for the mobile phone to be answered. We use it to communicate the turns, exits, breaks etc and very happy with it. From memory this is allowed to use while driving compared to mobile phones.

My entire friends group had these in our cars when we were in our late teens/early 20s. Whenever we'd go out and had more than a carload of people it would make life so much easier. Plus we'd talk shit over them the whole time

  • How strange they are selling the exact same item for $219… only that it has "free shipping"..

      Different seller

      • This is by catch itself. From my experience their support is slow, but better than dealing with 3rd party supplier.
