I've got the same size but last year's model, have it wall mounted.
I'm sitting about 3-3.5m from it, very immersive.
Need abou 5-6 meters according to Canstar blu 85” distance to couch is 5.75m min
I sit 7m from my 110” screen so
I'm 3.5m from 75, it's perfect. 5-6m sounds way to far. Most TV manufacturers would suggest closer but obviously they have an interest…. Probably somewhere in between :)
I'd be following thx standards before canstar blue
Is the viewing angle wide enough for a large lounge room?
The 8500 series from memory has lesser viewing angle than the higher model, though what sort of angle are you talking about?
Probably 90 degrees.
That's um not quite likely… That'd be alongside…. I presume you mean 45.
@scuderiarmani: Oops failed maths at school. I meant like a equal sides triangular view coming out from the TV, so it's watchable off-axis. Maybe I mean 45 degrees.
@DSOTM: https://youtu.be/orgYoNuQREI
From memory he discusses it with the 95 series
No TV will look great off axis, however how bad is probably up to personal preferences, probably wanna see it in person before you commit. I went the 9500 series in a 75 over this, even as a direct upgrade from the 2015 8500 equivalent it was night and day better. The 8500 series now looks particularly bad in comparison especially at such huge sizes.
I probably have some seating close in around 30 degrees and I don't have any issue.
@scuderiarmani: Thanks for the info. I guess I'm spoiled as I still have the last of the great 65" Panasonic plasmas and the off-axis viewing is excellent. I'll have a look at the 9500 series. Thanks again.
@DSOTM: Yeah I had many Panasonic Plasmas too, parents now have them. New TV's have limitations compared to them. There's many things they do that just looks better, even today.
The 75 9500 series can be had around this price. Also has the better internal processor that made the Nvidia Shield I had connected to one redundant.
@scuderiarmani: OLED looks the same at much wider angles than 45 degrees.
But 85" OLED … yeah. Nah.
@Diji1: Agreed, using one a little off angle, albeit 55. Wish 75 oled was affordable…
Would this be good for a bedroom? ;)
Put it on the cieling, double as a mirror :)
Is this TV better than LG 7600 86" option that is selling for $3070 plus delivery? Delivery optionnfrom Videopro is $40 for me.
is this TV good in bright room conditions ? the tv will be facing east and we have glass door, windows on eastern side.
i am looking to replace my 55in panasonic Plasma.
thanks
Love to have this hanging on the wall. Would 4 metres be far enough?
