6764

Update : I am getting THE Drone and many more ozb mates.

Thanks Bunnings for making all of us SUPER HAPPY

—————-

Shhhhh.. 🤫 …. Enjoy :)

Note : Check your PICKUP LOCATION or You may End up travelling to another state.

Or You can get it for $1999 @ JB Hi-Fi or HN if that is nearby ;-)

The Mavic 2 Zoom from DJI is a professional quality film making drone that gives you the ability to get closer to the action, thanks to its 2x 24-48mm optical zoom camera with a 1/2.3" 12MP sensor. With 4x lossless zoom (including 2x optical zoom) you can capture sensitive subjects from an even greater distance. There's even a single-tap aerial mode called Dolly Zoom that gives a Hitchcockian effect to your footage.

The Mavic 2 Zoom utilizes a low-drag aerodynamic body design for achieving speeds up to 47.7 mph, a four-cell LiPo battery for up to 31 minutes of flight time, and low-noise propellers for filming without being distracting. This power and performance are coupled with a variety of shooting modes and capabilities for cinematic results.

In order to help keep the Mavic 2 Zoom safe and in control, DJI has provided OcuSync 2.0 video transmission technology that can transmit a video feed to the included controller from up to 5 miles away in Full HD 1080p quality. There's also omnidirectional obstacle sensing that provides object avoidance with sensors on all sides of the Mavic 2 Zoom.

I even applied for my remote pilot licence (RePL) in aticipation. All in vain.

I've been looking forward to my lunch time reading! Gonna upvote this just for the sheer entertainment it's provided me

  • +1

Damn was hoping to pickup a cheap Zoom on Gumtree from some OzBargain junkie for cheap

  • This has to be the worse way of promoting their new online store. I think they should honor the first 200 units. They have benefitted from most of us signing up.

    • +3

And I say they honour 300 units! slams fists on table!

      • +1

Yes, we have also load tested their online store for free.

    • +4

Sir, I am sorry to inform you that you are #201 in queues.

  • +4

Hi Bunnings, you must be new in town.

Please, meet OzBargain. Starting from today, you will get a lot of oops and 404s. Enjoy your stay (online). See you again soon, we promise.

  • +1

Not sure if mentioned but the price has gone to $1,995.00 now

    • I always find this argument hard to believe. It's almost always some employee who hates their job ended up fat fingering the keyboard that caused the mistake, rather than some higher up is out to get us by making an elaborate plan to misprice a singular item and leak it to an ozbargain member to steal all the traffic from amazon. Then again I've seen a lot of ass kissers in dead end positions back in my day working in retail pulling this sort of crap hoping it'll boost them up to a position closer to kiss the rectum of the CEO. This could of been a mix of both, who knows.

I’ve still got the spinning wheel from 8am this morning. Wonder if I’ll get one?😂 In true Ozbargain style I’m planning on keeping the window open for the rest of the year just in hope.

Got a memo 10 minutes ago.

"- A genuine error has been made in the pricing of this product
    - We will unfortunately not be able to honour the price
    - We unfortunately have no substitutes for equivalent pricing
    - All orders will be cancelled, and a refund given to customers

We are deeply sorry for the confusion this has caused"

    RIP

    • Deeply sorry….sure…

    • +7

What about a gift voucher for the troubles?

    • Tell em to F off, and point out that Bunnings earn 12bn profits and they can share 1bn from their mistakes.

      J/k :p

  • Apparently drones are laser measuring devices according to Bunnings…

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/our-range/tools/hand-tools/measu…

    • Joking aside, professional 3D mappers are using DJI drones (with special software of course) so yes technically they are measuring devices.

  • +12

So the low price really was just the beginning?

    • +3

No, the wrong price was just the beginning

    • +1

Actually, now the refunds are just the beginning.

  • -2

yes.. they just refund back to me for 3 Drones.

  • +1

Still waiting to be contacted but realized I didn't put my phone number in the order

  • Has anyone who paid using PayPal been refunded yet?

    • No call, no refund and no email. Here the mind is still hoping for something. Lol

    • Nada

  • +10

Put item on website for ridiculously low price. Take money. Put 100000x $298 in bank for 3 days. Profit on interest. Refund customers after 4 days.

    • Sadly no laws about that

      • Yes there is. We have a prohibition on misleading or deceptive conduct.

        • Meaning if proven. I doubt anyone will follow this up with that intent. It’ll just be an ‘error’

        • Looking forward to my 63c of interest after your 3 year court battle with Wesfarmers on my behalf!

    • +4

Most of the people ordered using credit cards or PayPal, I bet no money even landed in Bunnings bank account before it issues a refund.

    • +2

      (100000 x $ 298 x 2% interest)/365 days = $1632 => 3 days * $1632 = ~$4900.

      • 1 extra staff sorted for a month for online launch

        • You think Bunnings floor staff get $4900 a month? Or before tax? I guess maybe before tax…

    • +7

don't think 100000 people ordered, but lets say 5000 paid with PayPal (assuming everyone only ordered one)..

for every transaction with PayPal, there's a non-refundable 2.6% + $0.30 AUD transaction fee, meaning that..

      (298 * 2.6%) + 0.30 = 8.048
      8.048 * 5000 = 40240

…Bunnings' would cop a loss of $40k just for processing Paypal refunds

      • I don't know about Bunnings but private sellers do get get the Paypal fees back when refunding buyers.

        • +3

I think you're a bit outdated there.. the new policy was effective a week ago - see here

          • @skido: Looking on the bright side, there will be more incentive for the gift cards from the EBay UK deals to be processed instead of cancel and refund. Oh wait, it's also Paypal ;-)

  • I missed such a price error bargain. lol…..

    • +4

      picture or didnt happen

    • +1

Did you put on a sob story, or were you like me "I was expecting this phone call, thank you and have a nice day"

    • +1

Interesting. If its true, that's pretty generous. Most places only give gift cards to the value of $0 for price errors.

    • -3

I ordered 10, so should I expect $500 gift cards?

      • LOL I was just teasing Dex38313. Whoosh!

  • +1

Has anyone ordered before 7:39:58am and got cancelled by Bunnings?

    • I made one at 7:39 and one at 7:41 because I messed up the pickup location and neither have been cancelled.

      • Ordered at 7:45, not cancelled at the moment.

    • I ordered one and haven't received any cancellation tho:)

    • Ordered 7:15 qld time…

  • +11

Went with the crowd like a dumb sheep, now I have 2 x $298 transactions on my card and no receipt to show for it lol.

    • Dumb sheep I am too. I also have the 2 x $298 and no receipt.

      • +1

I see your 2 and i raise you 4 x $298 and no receipts. lol.

      • Didi you sign up on the Bunnings website? I did and my order is still active. In limbo still unsure if it will be processed or cancelled. Ordered around 7:30-40am

    • You wouldn't have gotten the drone for 5-10 business days anyway so no harm done unless the refund takes longer than that.

    • Login to bunnings with the email and password provided during your purchase and navigate to order history, you will see your order details which also says 'Please note, product & pricing is correct at time of purchase'…lets see wat happens

  • I am sad that I missed the roller coaster ride :(

    • +2

You just missed out on a lot of people spewin.

  • +2

Bunnings employee who published the page should've gone to specsavers

    • Don't use that joke in a Specsavers, they don't get it.

      • +1

        or not funny

        • +1

True, the ads are horrible marketing.

  • +1

I ordered online using my PowerPass account (credit to the person who posted that tidbit earlier when the main Bunnings site killed the link). I have gotten phone and email confirmation from my local store that they will be processing the order but there will be delays.

Still doubtful but fingers crossed they don't cancel due to "no stock".

    • +1

      Interesting.

    • was this confirmation early in the morning or now? I think Head office gave all stores a direction a bit later in the morning before they knew what was going on.

      • I submitted the order around 10am, got the call around 11:30am and then the email confirmation 11:50am.

    • employees didn't read the memo before contacting you, you'll get another call

  • +1

Just got an email confirming the order and payment from my local bunnings store special orders email address. I had ordered over the phone.

    • What time did you order?

      • 7.50am BNE time.

    • +1

means nothing…i had 4 missed calls from local bunnings with a message to call back urgently…i know why…

      • You are probably right. I haven't received any phone calls or emails to say order cancelled yet. If I don't hear back then I'll keep quiet for a week or so before chasing them again.

        • my kids picked up the call and they are going to cancel all, apparently the headoffice will call me…

  • I ordered 2 Drones. Bunnings gave me a $20 gift voucher for each drone. Not great, would rather a new drone…but hey, $40 for doing nothing? Ill take it.

    • Was that without asking?

      • +1

Well, they offered it to my friend without asking.

All I said when I went for my refund was….my friend got $20 gift card per drone can you do the same. And they did it then and there on the spot.

I went in store for my refund as I did a special order with my local store.

I still have a paypal one pending. See what happens with that one lol. Hopefully another voucher.

    • Wow, so the guys who ordered 10 will get $200 free then.

      Not too shabby at all.

    • Wow.. should have said my friend got $50 instead of $20 ;)

    Nice little marketing stunt!

  • Has anyone received an email for cancellation or refund?

    • +1

      Nothing here. Ordered around 7:40-7:45.

      • +1

ordered straight after deal was posted, nothing so far

        • Did anyone got the order invoice? I'm still waiting on invoice email from them

          • @Astatine: I did, does that mean anything?

            • @ets27: Better than nothing :)
Not sure if I should reach out to them and risk my order being cancelled :D
