      • I am in the promo code box in the Referrals and Promotions section.

        • Just gotta type it in the Promo code box

          • @Danstar: Hi Danstar, thanks for helping. I am putting it in the promo code box but it's just coming up with a red cross and not letting me proceed.

Its working again now - just signed up

    • I just tried signing up and its doing the same to me as well…

Tried both firefox and chrome. It wont let you continue with that code

      • There was an issue on the signup form for about 20 minutes today but it was fixed. The promo is valid until December.

        • Not working for me right now. Red Cross.

          • @katz: Working: the problem is all other fields on the page need to be complete, then the code shows a GREEN TICK

  • Has the promo code finished?

    • Hope not

  • +3

Just signed up and it was activated within 6 hours. Was previously with MyRepublic and was getting 50ms ping and 40Mbps download max on speedtest.com. Now i'm getting 95Mbps with 1-2ms ping. Couldn't be happier.

The code is working again now. Just signed up

Turns out it was my home phone that was holding up my order. I only put it on the form because it asked for it. Got a phonecall from a friendly rep, told them it wasn't necessary to bring over as we don't use it anyway. Got text 15 mins later to say we're connected!

  • Just switched from ABB ($100pm) to SL ($70pm).
    All done within 15min.
Now just need to restart the modem when I get home and call ABB to validate the cancellation.

    • +2

I just did that and the ABB rep was incredibly helpful and professional. I'm going to miss ABB. Do some promos for your existing clients people! I would rather stay than churn but $240/year is a few dinners out with my loved one.

      • Don’t forget to bring your coupons for those dinners!

      • +1

Agreed Gary! Any kind of incentive and I would have stayed!

      • Only 6 months x $20

        • Regular price for Superloop is $10 cheaper per month than ABB for 100MBit unlimited….

  • +2

Had it for a day now, coming from Kogan NBN,
Over all it's been really good as expected.

I signed up at 12:25 at night it was connected at 12:44 that night.

  • Currently on Aussie BB and thinking of switching to Superloop. Do you know if they use IPoE (aka DHCP for WAN just like Aussie BB)?

    • As per Super loops email upon connection

The required configuration for your modem/router will need to be IPoE / Dynamic IP.

  • +7

sorry Aussie broadband did not really want to leave you but ozbargain compelled me

  • Fantastic. Been meaning to find someone else after AussieBB have been giving me the shits with having to ring up each month to make a manual credit card payment as their billing system identified me once for fraud for some reason. Happy to find something just as good!

  • I have requested connection today over the phone, however, they applied Promo Code SLC20FOR40. According to their email notification, Monthly Charge will be "74.95 - 20.00" i.e. 54.95.
Does anyone know what that code is? Should I be lodging a complaint and requesting SLC20FOR6 code? Thanks.

You will be getting $20 off for 40 months😂

  • For FTTP can you have 2 connection with same provider?
I'm current customer and wondering if I could get another connection at discounted price and disconnect previous one without having downtime.

    • Are you a new customer?

  • I've been on FTTP for almost five years now with various other providers, but I only get "Fixed Wireless" showing when I do a search on my address. I have sent SL sales a support ticket yesterday but haven't had a reply yet. Any ideas from the community about the FTTP fixed wireless matter?

    • +1

This happened to me yesterday as well, but I can now select the plans.

      • Working for me too now. Thanks! Wouldn't have checked again otherwise.

  • I was surprised when I was setting up the account and told the password can only contain letters and numbers…

  • +2

I submitted application and service was activated within 5 minutes. The joys of FTTP (Sorry for rubbing it in😉). Another convert from ABB. And so far so good.

    • FTTN is the same ;P

  • +4

I switched from AussieBB to Superloop 2 weeks back, speed is just as good at evenings.
Michael Blake on Whirlpool was more than happy to move me to this deal from my original one month free.
    Happy customer :D

  • Signed up earlier this morning, FTTN. Coming from Droptus.

Confirmation email at 11:52am, nothing since :(

Was hoping for one of those amazing 8 min activation success stories!

    • Did you have VoIP ?

      • Optus provided a phone number I believe with my existing plan, but I never used it. How does that impact?

Just realised - maybe I need to let them know that I dont want the number anymore?

        • +1

All good a rep pushed it through from Whirlpool! (paused as I put a number in)

          • +1

@katz: That’s good. Few others who had a VoIP attached to their original plan took longer to transfer over

  • +1

So from the T&C, if I sign up for the 50/20 then decide to upgrade to the 100/40 during the 6 months then I lose the $20 discount?
    Is that correct?

    • it would appear so, yes.

  • Well this is a well timed opportunity since I've been looking into moving on from iiNet since I'm moving into a new place in 3 weeks.
The new place has FTTP so should be sweet, but I don't know much about Superloop.

How good are they in terms of speeds and reliability (e.g. any dropouts, slowdowns at any point in time especially during peak hours etc)?

I'm thinking 50/20 should be good enough for me since I'm mostly doing streaming and browsing and very moderate amount of downloading…or am i better off getting 100/40?

    • There's no contract so after your 6 month discount you can upgrade/downgrade. 100/40 is pretty decent if you ever need to do some sort of cloud backup of your computer.

Reliability wise Superloop and ABB rank the best in Australia probably at this point.

      • Thanks for that and no, i can't see myself ever needing to do any sort of cloud backup, so it will mainly be streaming, browsing and some downloading.
        How is wifi with Superloop?

Solid Wifi is an absolute must for me. I'm on FTTP NBN and I'm looking at getting Asus RT-AC68U router.

        • Wifi will be fine if you have a good signal and good fixed speed. (I have that router and it's great)

  • +1

    Does Superloop churn on weekends?

    • +1

      yes we do.
as long as your order goes through smoothly its automated. Just don't put an FNN in the signup form
if it takes longer than an hour message one of the Michaels on the superloop whirlpool thread: https://forums.whirlpool.net.au/thread/3n4wqpz3

  • thanks OP for the post
Churned from ABB to SL, took 15mins, did modem reboot. that's it. FTTP - Avg speed is around 89mbps on 100mbps plan. but less compared to ABB's solid avg >95mbps. But no complain, streaming/downloading everything smoothly. also got 27 days of credit back from ABB.

  • Currently with Tpg and have been with them for 10+ yrs. Have been reading all the posts and still undecided if it would be a good to move from tpg unlimited $70/m to this deal. With tpg I have never been getting speed close to the one they say I should be getting. I’m on 50NBN but not even close of getting the speed they say ie. 44 (usually averaging 28 only). What guarantee would I have that swapping to 100/40 Superloop would give me better speed/service? Has anyone else changed from tpg to this Superloop? Tpg includes phoneline and a model (yes I need a phoneline for house alarm purpose). If you changed from tpg to Superloop did you have to return the modem to tpg?

    • What did TPG say when you call?

    • I was with TPG for years on an FTTP 100/40 NBN connection and their speed during peak time for the 8 months prior to before I switched would get to as low as 5-30Mbps. I changed over to AussieBB for a month and then settled with FutureBB due to not being happy with AussieBB's international speeds (I hear they have improved since I was with them a year ago). Getting away from TPG was the best thing I ever did. I couldn't stream or watch anything with TPG during peak times. Hardly ever had that issue with AussieBB or FutureBB.

I also wouldn't waste your time trying to talk to TPG. They made me do ping tests and they didn't do anything for months. The rep I dealt with through email was a decent guy, but yeah, they finally admitted hardware needed to be upgraded which is what I thought all along (I was always telling them the issue was on their end). Strung me along for months without any solution so I switched away.

  • Which NBN RSP would you guys say have the best International Speeds/links? I'm currently with Future Broadband (they've been pretty good so far), but was thinking of trying either ABB (I read a while ago that Aussie Broadband have greatly improved their international links?) or Superloop. I like to watch a lot of streaming sport and also movies/tv shows (both paid for services and unpaid services), so international speeds are one of the most important/main things I'm looking for. My connection is FTTP and speed is 100/40 NBN.

Anyone had any experience with either Superloop and AussieBB in regard to how good their international speeds/links are?

  • Order first then cancel with your exisiting provider later. That's what in my order e-mail. I have done the reverse. Hope for the best.

"You have told us that you have an existing service with Aussie BB at your premises, which you want to transfer to Superloop.

Superloop will place an order as soon as possible, which may result in nbn™ notifying your previous provider of the transfer request. You are liable for any cancellation fees with the previous provider, where applicable.

Should you submit a cancellation request to your existing provider before your service has been transferred, this may lead to provisioning delays.
We recommend contacting your previous provider once the new order is complete, to ensure your account is correctly closed, any outstanding billing is resolved, and to avoid disruption of the transfer to Superloop."

    • Anyway I am on Superloop now lol. Didn't even realise it.

    • I just did the same and looks like it was ok for you? My internet just went down (I'm at work and I got notifications from my smart devices). Fingers crossed it goes alright.

  • Been an hour since I got confirmation of my application to churn from ABB. Still got service with ABB. Called support (polite, helpful) and its still sitting in NBNco's court. May get done today, may get done tomorrow. Oh well, least I still have internet in the mean time.

    • Connection dropped out a min or two after posting this comment. Now online with Superloop. Local speeds identical to ABB, ping a couple ms higher (but that can change between modem resets on FTTN). So far so good.

  • Can I see my CVC chart for my POI BEFORE I sign up?

    I can with Aussie Broadband.

  • It looks like this is a month by month commitment, not a 6 month contract?

    • Correct

      • Thanks.

Interesting that so many people want to jump ship from Aussie Broadband. Has their halo slipped?

        • +2

More like top 2 providers and ones currently offering you a 120 buck saving over the next 6 months.
Zero penalty for switching as Aussie doesn't give any kind of loyalty discount.

          • @SBOB: 180 over 6 months for me

            • @Danstar: Who negged me on that? lol

Was paying 100 with Aussie. Now $70 with SL
              Why so serious ?

  • I signed up to this deal earlier this afternoon just gave them a call and I will have to wait until tomorrow for my service to be manually changed over from aussie bb.

    • Fttn?

Was going to put my application in today but saw somewhere they only do fttn during business hours.

      • Yes fttn.

  • Thanks, just got sick of Aussie BB - good timing to leave the (profanity) :)

  • Sign up last night being a Sat, switch over completed today on the Sunday in under 24 hours. And I did not notice any down time!

I wasn't expecting things to be this smooth, its a pleasant surprise!

    • +1

      HFC or FTTN?
I guess there isn't really much to do; NBN is the actual provider of infrastructure, these service providers just do the billing.

    • Did you get any sot of email confirmation when the cut over occurred ?
(I also signed up on Saturday and have heard nothing 2 days later)

  • +1

Will this work on a TPG NBN supplied Archer VR1600v1.0 Modem Router?

    • Hi, it worked on my kogan provided archer vr500v.

    • It should, but I believe you may need to reset the modem as TPG (and umbrella companies) use VLAN ID to work.

  • Currently on Telstra Cable, does any know if my Network Gateway modem will work with SL NBN? Its a Netgear CG3100D-2 if that helps.

    • Hi,

My technicolor and netgear c6300d from Telstra didn’t work :(

      • bummer thanks.

    • What NBN technology will you be getting? Assuming it will be HFC as you're on Telstra Cable.

If it's FTTP or HFC (Cable), it should as it has a Ethernet WLAN port, the connection will be maintained by the NTD and the Netgear will just function as a router.

If you're getting FTTN, then you'll need a new device.

      • Its HFC, thanks for the info

        • Netgear Telstra Gateways don't work with SL HFC, even though AussieBB is fine. I learnt this the hard way.

  • I do not have NBN provisioned yet. According to NBNco.com.au :
Planned to be available from Apr-Jun 2020* Planned technology : nbn™ Fibre to the Curb (FTTC)*
    Construction stage : Build commenced.

    But when checking on SuperLoop.com.au:
    Great News!
You can get connected with nbn™ over HFC technology

I have even signed up on it. Just curious if I will really get connected?
I have another 2 friends in the neighbourhood, none have NBN yet, although superloop shows GOOD NEWS!

    Any had a similar situation?

    • +1

I would call them. I signed up (although my place has just been confirmed to have NBN) coming from ADSL, but never heard back. I called them up a week later and it seemed my application was just sitting around. Immediately after I hung up I received an SMS confirming an appointment with an NBN technician.

      • This ^
I had to call them too; if the order does not go automatically, they will not contact you that it's stuck. Lame

  • I signed up to TPG about 2 months ago. They also provided me a new modem but since I was an existing ADSL customer, there was no lock-in. Can I just transfer over to Superloop through their website? Do I have to return the TPG model? Thanks

    • +1

Read your contract / sign up email

    • I don’t think you would need to return the modem. As you got transferred from adsl and there is no contract you should be fine, but give them a call

  • +1

Dear ozbargainers I just transferred as I was fed up with Kogans drop outs (so I am going to basically pay for an extra 10 days even though we won't be using the service). So that you know the only modem that worked it was the one from Kogan (tpg archer vr500v). The other two modems from telstra used to work with Kogan but not with superloop. netgear c6300d and technicolour Tg800v. It took only 45 mins and I was on Kogan HFC.

    • Hi fozzie ,is this the one you mentioned not working with superloop from telstra tg800v (white color)

      https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Technicolor-TG800vac-Telstra-Gat…

and what type NBN you have please

Fibre to the premises (FTTP) …
Fibre to the node (FTTN) …
Fibre to the building (FTTB) …
Fibre to the curb (FTTC) …
      Hybrid Fibre-Coaxial (HFC cable) .

      • +1

Yes this one and I have hfc

        • Ok thanks a lot it will be very helpful for everyone

          • @Apollo-Fc: No dramas, I am now using the tecnicolour as a wifi extender (as the Kogan archer is useless for my upstairs part).
Happy so far with superloop, such a good timing for me

        • Hey Fozzie, I’m about to switch to nbn HFC too and have the Telstra Frontier Gateway DJN2130.. Do you think I’ll be able to use this as my wifi router with Superloop?

          • @shockme79: Yes, it will work.
Just do the following when you switch:

Unplug nbn box for 1 minute and then plug back in. Then connect to router and let it set up (should take about 10 minutes)

  • So much for being changed over to superloop today no txt or email looks like I will have to call them again.

  • well that was quick..
5 minute transfer from ABB to Superloop, FTTN, at ~9pm
