hardly find a car without aux port

    • I guess this saves you having to connect via a physical cable.

Also, will cable give you hands free calls ?

Problem with this is, you need to be tuned to this frequency, so can't use your radio at the same time…

      • is there one that lets you use the radio at the same time? genuinely interested if there is!

      • Without knowing for sure on this one, you usually set the frequency that it broadcasts on. Even if it was hard coded, there is a very small chance that it coincides with an existing broadcast, but that is highly (statistically) unlikely.

    • Plenty of older cars still on the road don't.

    • I have a 2002 corolla. Been using things like these for 7 years now.

  • … but it's so ugly

  • Anyone used this before? Comment on quality?

    • Not sure if it is the same brand, but ours looks exactly the same and was about the same price on Amazon when we bought it about six months ago via ozbargain.
I would say it works better than any previous cheap Bluetooth hands free we have tried, but the microphone could be stronger or it just isn’t that good for calls, and you can end up with a dodgy phone call that breaks up a fair bit.
For music streaming from your phone it’s pretty good. In fact i would be quite happy with that feature if I could just wean Mrs Entropy off her weird attraction to a piquant mix of old musicals and k-pop.

I think it is reasonable for the money

At the end of the day a new BT head unit will beat it hands down, but then you are spending hundreds of dollars in comparison (might as well spend the cash on an AC/AA head unit at that point, which I just did for our other car).

      • I bought a 21 dollar head unit from fleabay. New, delivered. Came with a remote. Sounds surprisingly good…

If you can fit yourself ( not hard ), it was good enough for the workvan.

Bonus was automated fm station search. No CD player, but who the hell uses that anyway?

    • bought it, hmmm okay but doesn't fit that great into my honda.

Doesn't have skip foward function, to play music you need to re insert the usb.

It works but not with all the functions i want.

  • Music quality is fine in this but the hands free is unusable. Volume of the other party drifts in and out slowly and you miss parts of what they’re saying. Fine for playback only, not calls.
