  Why is Virgin fare sooo damn expensive:
  Same dates within the promotion period (mid jan - mid feb):
  Singapore airlines = $3000 for family of 4.
  Virgin = $5000 (after discount) and USES same singapore flights.

  And i am way better off coverting my 250k velocity points to KrisFlyer and use that for redemption against flights.

    Rewards seats can be cheaper sometime but in others better off booking direct with Singapore Air (SIA)

    Recently booked business reward seat with virgin as was cheap and economy direct with Singapore for above reason. Both flights operated by SIA

    I think you're looking at the codeshare flights….they are usually cheaper to book direct with the operating airline as both airlines need to make $$

    It's nothing unusual for a code share flight to be cheaper when it's book under the operating airline's flight number than with a code share partner's
