$1 Refund on Next Online Order By Returning Resusable Plastic Bags to Delivery Driver or In-Store During Pick-up @ Woolworths

So about a week ago, I got a credit from Woolworths for the $1 I had paid for my bags when I got delivery. Turns out, they are now at least crediting you $1 when you return your bags to your driver. You need to remind your driver, because this week, I didn't get my $1 credit until I emailed Woolies to remind them I'd returned my bags. So if you are still on the old Delivery system where they charge you for your bags, at least you can get the money back. First deal, so if I totally hosed this, sorry.

Refund for recycling Online reusable bags

We have a new refund option for customers who choose to have their online orders packed into our reusable plastic bags. When it’s time for your online reusable plastic bags to be recycled, simply hand them back to us for recycling with REDcycle while receiving a new online order and we’ll refund $1 against your latest order.

To do this, please pass the online reusable plastic bags to a Service Desk Team Member while collecting a new Pick up order in our stores, or to your Delivery driver when receiving a new Delivery order.

        Anyone can post an old deal after 6 months from previous Deal, so I shouldn't have said it was a Dupe. It's a good reminder for many.

        It's a bit more complex with a Long Running Deal. OzBargain replaces the old Long Running Deal, with the new Deal in Woolies Deals & expires a still running old Deal. But useful comments in old Deal are no longer easily available. (In my opinion, a link should be automatically made to previous & still running Long Running Deal, or Deals combined to retain previous comments.) But that's all up to OzBargain's systems.

        The Mods made the modifications - adding details found in the previous Long Running Deal.

    I have had delivery 3 times in the last month , havent paid for bags ,havent returned any bags and have still gotten the refund

    • I've had that happen a few times too!

  • I get a $1 refund for every C&C order whether I buy bags or BYO bags, and I've never returned bags as I reuse them.

  • So long as you give back at least 3 bags they will give you this $1 refund. This was told to me by one of the delivery drivers and has worked for me everytime.

  • Where do the bags go? For hygiene reasons it will be the bin … Single use bag!

    • As far as I am aware, the bags (along with other soft plastics from the in-store collection bins) are collected by REDcycle (www.redcycle.net.au) and "This material will be used to make bench seats to be placed at the front of Woolworths stores or potentially store fittings and fixtures"

    I get the $1 refund from my C&Cs from my local Woolies (Winston Hills) simply by wrapping them together and placing them into the general soft plastics recycling bin in-store.

    So if you get delivery option and forget to return them to the driver, you may still get the refund if you return them to your local store at any time.

  • I have been getting $1 refund for almsot all my click and collect orders. I always choose BYO bags and never had any bags to returns but still get the odd $1 credit. Sometimes they wrap frozen items or meat in the reuseable bags, maybe those are the orders I get the refund for. And yes those along with other household soft plastics go in the red-cycle bins.
