Bloody good price for a PS4 Pro if your PS4 is on the way out. The way I see it, you're paying $149 for another few years of warranty + a more powerful console. Apparently they're taking other models of PS4 as well, doesn't need to be slim. Will just have to pay a bit more for it.

For anyone on the Gold Coast, try Helensvale Westfield. No problems trading in the OG Fat PS4 (2014 edition). Managed to get the white PS4 Pro, Kingdom Hearts and Overwatch included - and because I already had an EB Games membership, he gave me a new EB Games card and an extra discount. Total paid - $150!!

Went there and was served by a guy called Scott. Super friendly and was a total bro. Traded 500gb PS4 slim, controller, hdmi cable, micro usb cable and 2 games. Didnt test the console. Got the Fortnite version of the Pro and KH3 and Overwatch (both sealed). Was $149. Total cost after eb card discount and 8% eb gift card: $130ish. No upsell, didnt pressure me into buying anything extra. Overall was really surprised with how good the service was for EB, effortless transaction.

Just brought mine in to EB and the person proceeded to open the box (I still had original packaging) of my 1TB ultimate player bundle PS4. Then they dropped it.
Then they tell me that even though it was a 1TB model, I still had to pay $179, and nothing was included (no fortnite bundle or the other bundle/games mentioned in this thread).
I was planning on going to a different store if they tried this (I had rung them yesterday and confirmed it would be $149 and the fortnite bundle), but no luck when I actually got there and she legit dropped my console from the desk onto the ground :| Didn't want to risk taking it back.
Still happy(ish) with my trade in, but such a bummer.
UPDATE: Rang the store, and they've agreed to give me Kingdom Hearts 3 and Overwatch Legendary Edition and match it at $149!

Just got mine at eb aus fair on the gold coast. Had an og 500g ps4 and got a 1tb white pro with kingdom hearts 3 and overwatch for $179.
He told me that any this gen games are fine xbox one ps4 or switch will be taken. Was gona buy kh3 soon for about $40 and buy a new hdd for my og at about 100$ so it was pretty much a no brainer for me.

@jopiter69: Try Helensvale or Runaway Bay - both confirmed they would accept the original PS4. Westfield Coomera said they would only give a trade in value and it was not part of the promo.

Just got my PS4 pro Fortnite bundle this morning at Top Ryde center. The guy I was dealing with had no idea about this promotion. At first he told me the bundle wasn't available, only the PS4 pro without no games included. Secondly, he said only games with trade value of $10 can be traded.
After he took a phone call asking his mate, he agreed to let me buy 2 games for $5.2, traded these 2 games and my ps4 FAT, then pay $168.4 for the bundle. Total cost I paid was $173.6.
Yup Top Ryde Ebgames have issues. Once they told me I am not allowed to transfer Ebgames credits from other stores
I got told that when I tried to buy something as they told me that to use money from a preorder I have to do it at the store I put the preorder on as it affects the stores numbers

I would like to upgrade my OG PS4 to this as it seems like a good deal and future proofs me but I have a 60" Panasonic Plasma ST60 which I don't intend on upgrading any time soon unless it dies.

Do it. even if you don't have 4k TV now, your old PS4 is out of warranty and you will have better value to trade in once PS 5 out. That was the logic when I did my trade in.
Still an advantage even if you only have 1080p. Many games run at higher frame rates than on PS4.

My local EB Games (Brookvale NSW) included Kingdom Hearts and Overwatch in the trade offer. The Fortnite edition + 2 games was also eligible but I wanted a white PS4 Pro so did not get the Fortnite code. Here is my receipt.
Also Destiny 2 is excluded from the trade-in offer. Luckily I had a few extra PS4 games in my car in case any of the games got rejected.
I just love how each different ebgames staff have their own discretion on the trade in matter. Unfortunately I didn't get the free games but happy to swap an old pro for a new pro for $79.

Yep new warranty. They tried to upset me on their extended warranty package. Great for me as my og PS4 was from Xmas 2014. Nearly 5 years old!

Phoned 3 stores near me and all have now said you can get KH3 and Overwatch bundled for an extra $25, apparently some memo came through today from their HO about it.
Anyone know what those two would sell for? I have no interest in them but anything over $25 is a profit :)

Can also confirm ps vr looks heaps better using the pro. Skyrim on a regular ps4 looked like a blurry n64 game. With the pro it actually looks detailed next gen.
I think with negotiation you should get the games free.
Judging from the comments, they got a message from HQ not to give out the bundle just the standalone console unless the store manager or rep bypasses that new policy.

Forgotten to update but attended yesterday in my local EB and got the 2 games included for the $179 (OG PS4). Forgot to bring my 2 games so ended up buying the 2 cheapest games. Now I've still got the 2 games I want to get rid of at home :(
Just swapped my OG release day ps4 for the Ps4 pro (white) for $179, they even had a sign up breaking down what consoles you can trade at what prices this includes xbox one's toward the pro wish i had got a photo of the full promo in store.

The PS4 Pro is SIGNIFICANTLY quieter than OG PS4. Very happy with the upgrade.

I had an SSD in the OG PS4 which I now have in the PRO.
It depends a lot on the title, but there is definitely an improvement.
The Pro is heaps quieter than the OG PS4.

Initially I was told that the trade-in games must at least be $10 ea but after mentioning the posts here and asking for the guy to show it in T&Cs he changed his mind. Also the +2 games option now ends up being $25 extra. Hopefully that helps anyone here in the same situation.
I'll second that, the guy at EB Games on Chapel St, Windsor was clued up on all the options. I asked about the +2 games up front and was told something just over $200, when I questioned it he confirmed the $179 option was without kingdom hearts and overwatch… The fortnight bundle is part of the baseline deal still, so you can sell the skin code on eBay for $25 or whatever the going rate is.

They can take a deposit of $50 but I’d call before lugging everything in to see if they have stock. They won’t take your console without having one to hand over.

If you have any other stores around maybe give them a call to see if they have stock. One store near me had no stock and weren't sure on when stock would arrive while 2 others close by had stock of the 3 different Pro consoles.

If you have an EB games loyalty card you should let them know. I had never used it for much but instead of paying $179 (first gen PS4 500gb) I ended up paying $150 (the loyalty card increased the value of my trade in apparently).
Luckily you got a staff member who had no idea what they were doing and you profited from it :)

I did the full initialisation of my pro. The lady over the counter just said because of my eBgames membership. that was a pleasant surprise as I wasn't expecting that to be applied. and also Overwatch and KH3 to be included. so I walked out happier.
