    Brisbane stores:
Asked at Mt Gravatt store (low stock) - only 1 showing on their system (told likely lost / stolen)
Other Southside stores had no & negative stock levels (Rocklea -17!)

    • showing in-stock at Capalaba & Manly

      • +1

Staff did a check of many stores within driving distance around Mt Gravatt area & didn't find stock on their system.

  • how's their server and receptions?
I got a few xiaomi ones and they always have wifi issue and server issue :( need to press a few times for them to work

    • App by Brilliant is basically Smart Life re-badged and I didn't experience any issues with it. The smart plugs work fine with Smart Life app too.

    • press what a few times? the button on the device? they are hardwired … ? button on the phone?

      • Button on phone

Cheers OP. picked up a bunch from North Penrith Sydney - scanned at $10 . Still some left - Aisle no 47.

  • -1

Thanks OP. Picked up 8 from Harrisdale, WA. Half a box left.

    • Any more left?

      • You might as well go and report back

  • Thanks OP. My first OZB purchase aqquired 4 @ $9.50/each at Pakenham Officeworks still 3 left on shelf

  • How do these compare with the Aldi Medion ones - which now look to be going out the door for $10 as well (in my local Aldi)

    • I can say these ones work brilliantly.
The app is good and syncs with google assistant.

So, with that in mind and also $10. I’d go brilliant

    • +1

      crap i paid $20 each

aldi ones has power usage monitoring

aldi ones is bulky as hell , 100% blocking 2nd socket

      aldi ones doesn't have USB

      aldi app is ok too

  • -1

Thanks, picked one of these up at Officeworks who price matched for $9.50.

  • OW defo the way to go. Grabbed 4 from Melb CBD Elizabeth St, still plenty on the shelf.

    • +1

Does it matter which Bunnings you show as in stock for Officeworks to accept the price match?

      • I showed a Bunnings that was over an hour away from the OW store and they were very reluctant but did it in the end.

        • I just called Officeworks(5 mins phone call) and ask them to send it to my nearest store with a price match, no problem at all.

  • +1

I've just matched price at Officeworks 2 for $19, enjoy.

  • anyone know if the Arlec one also use Tuya?

    • +1

      yeah they do

  • +2

No Stock in Northland - Just confirmed

  • Stupid question - what is everyone using these for?

    • +1
    • I think it's a wi-fi extender and remote power on/off switcher, oh and a usb charger too.

      • +5

It is not a wifi extender

    • I use it when I'm away to switch on and off a floor lamp at differing times at night. I think just leaving a porch light on is just inviting a burglar to come in as it will be on throughout the day and nobody does that.

Also, for a heater fan in the bathroom during winter. Switch it on 10 mins before going in and it's nice and toasty.

    • Xmas light timer is great for that time of year. We also use on to control a lamp in the living room, as well as a pool pump in summer to run for a certain period of time each night.

The only annoyance with these is, once you use them you can't manually use the device anymore. For example I can't use the switch on my living room lamp anymore, have to use the smart feature. Which is not a big deal as we control it with our voice "Hey Google, turn the lamp on" etc..

  • Not much stock at Bunnings, can just call Officeworks and ask for the PBG and get it cheaper anyway

    • Can you call up for the price beat then collect in store later?

      • +1

        Yes

  • for those in brisbane, just go to officeworks, bring up bunnings bundamba store on your phone, and they will price match without questions, because it doesn't say clearance, they just need to see it say "in stock" and not "low stock"

    • I got away by saying there was low stock in a NSW store :) If they argued I would have showed other stores with no stock for comparison

  • How much power does it use while it's not being used? There's no specs on the site.

    Edit. Found it:

    Standby Power: <0.9W USB Charger: 1 x 5V 1500mA

They put the USB port current on the 'standby power' line. Surely it doesn't use 1.5A during standby!?

    • +3

I plugged one into my watt meter and it's drawing 0.5Watts

  • +3

For those who miss out, I just picked up a set of 4x Smart plugs w/monitoring for $69 delivered from Kogan.
$17.25 each which include the power usage monitoring was worth it for me.

    • I prefer the size and look of the kogan ones - app is pretty much the same just smaller profile plug. Shame it doesn't have USB!

  • +1

Priced matched/beaten at Officeworks in WA for $9.50. Otherwise, according to the website Bunnings Kalamunda still have stock.

  • Just purchased 6 from Officeworks. They price beat so got them for $9.50each which totalled $57 instead of $108.

BRILLIANT price if you ask me 👌🏼

All they asked was if it is in-stock, how much & who I was price beating, they hardly looked at my phone with the Bunnings screening up. Quick process.

    • dont mind me asking but what would you use 6 of these for?

      • +2

First I should note, I'm a heavy ozbargainer & intense impulse buyer. So my first instinct is to say oh they're not all mine, but really I saw a bargain and jumped it, after being lazy and not jumping on them at $15ea.

Now to the question, mainly for a few hard to reach switches I have. This should definitely help out. The other plugs are spare U Less I find other uses. Like, I wonder if it would work on a kettle (probably not). But I'll likely use it on my coffee machine too ☺️

  • +1

Price matched at Box Hill South Officeworks (2 left); all the wanted to see was if stock was available in any store in Victoria. Pretty easy

    • Thanks was just driving by and picked 2 myself. There's still one more left if anyone is desperate :)

  • Picked up a few. Thanks OP.

  • +2

20+ still on the shelf at Bunnings Gawler, SA late this afternoon. Scanned at $15 but I got a couple for $10 after showing price on website. Thanks OPS.

  • Just called up to make an order through OW by phone. Bought 6 for next day delivery WA. No need to rush and find anything =D

  • Got two from Officeworks Taren point (NSW) with price match. Saw another 6-8 on the shelves just now.

  • +3

Picked up two in Rockingham, WA - about 15 left.

    Cheers OP :)

  • Bummer no stock at my local store (Munno para)

    • Plenty at Gawler if you are happy to make the trip

      • I was in gawler last week

Don't go that way very often I'll just see if office works at Elizabeth will price match (wonder what excuse they will come up with not to)

  • +1

Thanks picked up two at Officeworks. There was plenty of stock. Price matched with no questions asked after showing bunnings website on phone.

  • +2

There are at least x20 at Bunnings Baldivis Perth WA, in the electrical section.

  • +1

Mornington Tas had about 10 left after I grabbed 8 …. they run up at $15 but the honoured the website price.

  • +1

Bunnings Albany 6330 has about 40 in stock! I only need about two lol.

  • Called, completely out of stock 2000

  • Out of Stock in my local despite website showing in stock. Will try OW price match tomorrow

  • +2

I got 6 of them from Officeworks. I've flashed two of them with the new tuya convert fork. Looks like some of them have the newer firmware but are flashing ok. The other two flashed with the old guys convert fine.

    Thanks OP!

    • Looks like the main fork was updated today. Is that right?

      • Yep the main fork was updated. Update and flash away.

    • +1

How and what benefits does flashing have?

  • Those who bought like half a dozen, what do you actually use it for that you need that many? Genuinely curious..

    • should tole them to order from OW to save $3, they possibly order it for resell?

    • to voice control downlights like someone has suggested? One for each bedroom easily 6 all used up.

      • ah good idea, so if I plug into power point on roof top, I could get control the LED downlights with my phone then?

        • Someone here suggested plugging in into the power point on roof top then plug a 4 or 6 outlets powerboard before plugging the LED down light to the powerboard. This way you can control the down lights in zoning such as 4 in the kitchen, 6 in the living room etc. You can use phone app to control them or get a Google Home Mini or Echo Dot to voice control them.

None at northmead.just driven to Smithfield. Got a whole big box left

  • I can't see any stock in Vic stores. So, no chance of price matching at any Vic officeworks?

    • When I spoke on the phone with Officeworks, they didn't even bother looking at the Bunnings site, just price matched straight away as they already know.

    • Set your store in the Bunnings website to NorthLand or Collingwood. They are both showing low stock. Officeworks should honour as they did for me yesterday. Good Luck!

  • +1

Pulled the trigger and ordered x2 from Officeworks, now to figure out what I need them for?

    • Can you price match online?

  • For anyone in far West Sydney - Penrith OW has plenty of stock and can price beat with Bunnings Penrith

  • Just called and price matched via OW. They already know about this as it seems to have been very popular. No checking required and confirmed order for 4 plugs within 5 mins. Cheers OP!

  • +1

Just got office works at Elizabeth to price match

Shows them the bunnings site and she was hesitant saying it says instore only!

    WTF??

I can understand if it wad online only

Called for a manager and he priced matched it saying the same thing about in store only

    So now I have 2

Now to work out what to do with my purchase in the ozbargain spirit

  • Ok, I'll go back to see if I can get some more at my local.

    What convinced me:

    very low standby power consumption:
as per box < 0.9W, actual measured by a Xiaomi zigbee switch: 0.37W

easily (OTA, no soldering required) flashed to alternative firmware (i.e. Tasmota) that does not require some Chinese cloud server, see

Looking forward to integrate them into my HA environment :-)

  • So they will constantly draw power to be wifi ready? Seems like a pretty environmentally unfriendly product…

    • Standby Power: <0.9W. If that is unacceptable you should consider turning off a hair dryer, bathroom heater a few second earlier to compensate this being turned on 24/7.

    • Really depends what you connect to it. I use one for a printer that used to draw between 5 and 10W in standby. Makes this switch quite environmentally friendly.

Sure I could have turned off that printer at the wall, but realistically, who's crawling under the table to do that every time they print a page?

  • Hey guys, I bought this one today, connected in the AP mode, however I want to know, can it be used as a repeater, to enhance my wifi signals in the far rooms?

  • +3

Still plenty at Bunnings Bonnyrigg 2177 as of 3/10.

  • Called OW and priced matched 4 for $8.32 each.

  • +3

    https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/brilliant-…

Looks like they’re being replaced by these?

    • +1

      According to Brilliant (sales);
At the moment this a range that is exclusive to Officeworks, the functionality is still the same, just a different skin.

It could be become available through other retailers in the future but at the moment it is just Officeworks.

  • I have an issue that they’ll only connect to 2.4 wifi when my phone and everything run on my 5g wifi. Any ideas how I can make them work?

    • I've never come across any SMART device that isn't 2.4 only. Do you also have a 2.4 running on your router? They only need access to the net/cloud, so as long as they have access to the 2.4, your phone can be on the 5G …. or in fact any network with web access anywhere in the world.

About 7 left in Burleigh Heads Bunnings as of Monday

    • Love a good stock update, keeping the deal alive!

  • Doesn't show on bunnings website anymore… :( Can't exactly pricematch without proof. Will they take receipts?

  • +5

Scored 10 of these earlier today. Store apparently had 70+ available but they were nowhere to be found. In case anyone's still looking, just call up and ask them to check stock of I/N: 0091644. Any Bunnings store can check nearby stores too since the item's no longer online. Highly recommend asking which aisle they're in — mine were in a side-stack in a random aisle in an unrelated area of the store.
