    Always only incremental but version 8 became very comprehensive in my opinion. I don't want more than what it offers. But, will see soon enough. The YouTube promo about version 9 looked vague.

    Izotope products are the audio equivalent of Photoshop plugins; they need a host of integrate into (Izotope RX is an exception; it has a standalone client as well as a plugin form). Most audio programs support VST2 and/or VST3 plugins; not just DAWs but editors like Sound Forge and Adobe Audition.

    I don't create music but edit audio as a hobby; FabFilter plugins I recommend since they produce good results and have a full digital interface rather than trying to replicate an analogue machine.

    When creating music, just remember: louder isn't better. Please don't use limiters aggressively to destroy the dynamic range of music.
