Cheaper in ebay with 18% off ebay gift cards

      • +58

Ok then. Cheaper to buy with Ebay code, bought with discounted Ebay gift cards using a new credit card (with first year fee waived) to hit minimum spend to earn signup bonus QFF points to sell them for 1.2cpp on ozbargain forums.

        • +34

Ok. You can keep your OZB membership.

OzB badge renewed for 10 years

        • or you can enjoy 1% rebate from shopback's app

      • hey how do i get ebay gift card at 18% off? i never bought ebay gift card before

      • Where?

  • +16

Not trying to put down a deal but 64GB space with cameras this powerful…….. just not wise.
You need more space on a phone nowadays.

    • +2

It’s true, but If you upload photos regularly then it’s ok.

Personally I have 256gb, because I didn’t want to worry about deleting apps etc

      • can you list some of the apps you use? only curious as a 32gb phone owner

        cheers

        • Facebook. Instagram what’sup.snapchat Radio, currency, banking translation apps
I’ve got hips of other but I don’t use that often. Lots of photos and videos

    • +18

I think it really depends on just what you use your phone for. I got an 8 Plus 256GB model about a year ago, and I have iCloud storage / offload unused apps disabled… and my iPhone storage page says "36.5GB out of 256GB Used". I could easily live with a 64GB model with my use.

    • You really need iCloud for a 64Gb phone. I shoot a lot and rarely use more than half my phone storage.

      • +1

You can use Google photos to store your photos . Unlimited

        • By design it works better with iCloud. I do use google as a 2nd backup though they don’t store them at full resolution.

    • -8

      ~3MB per photo / 64GB = 1,000+ photos storage

      • +5

You sure you passed year 1 math?

        • -4

Pretty sure! Did you notice the + next to my 1,000? I should have appended an /s. You’ve been muncaned! 😜
My point was 64GB is heaps of space for photos.

          • +4

@muncan: Not a whole lot for the 4K 60fps video Apple has been promoting though

            • +1

@ibgunth27: Sorry I must have missed those promotions.
Does it use a higher bitrate than 4K 60fps on the iPhone 8?

              • @muncan: Not sure about the exact specs compared to the 8, but they're certainly flexing their new cameras on the website. On average a 60-second 4K 60fps video takes ~400MB, plus operating system and apps. Do-able, but hardly a camera powerhouse they're advertising it to be if you need to rely on iCloud or transferring items off it every few days/weeks. Expandable storage would have been nice at minimum.

        • Speaking about math, I don't think Apple themselves can count. Start from 1,3g, 3gs, 4, 4s, 5, 5s,6,6s,7,8,X,Xs,11.

No matter how I see it, 9 is missing.

          So kudos to your calculation.

      • +6

        1gb = 1024mb
        1024 x 64gb = 65,536mb
        65,536mb/3mb = 21,845 photos

        • space for apps and os…..
you buy iphone just for camera?

          • @viper8548: i pretty much do besides like 10 small apps ;) but yer need at least twice that much to be good… who gets 64gig though now days

    • Huh, you actually need less then ever these days. Sync to Onedrive, don’t even need 64GB.

    • +2

Unless you actually live in 2019 and use cloud

    • up to 3h quality video. Make sure you have 2 phones if you need longer per event.

  • +3

Will be waiting for the 15% eBay codes for this one. Still nice to see them already at Big W this soon after launch.

    • That will be great isn't it. However Apple products are usually excluded from such offers

      • +2

Never, Mobilciti and Big W, both whom are authorised Apple resellers, are regularly included in eBay Plus 15% off promotions. I have bought a MacBook, an iPhone XR and an Apple Watch 4, from these two sellers at 15% off.

        • -3

Can’t find Never on eBay. Is that their full eBay store name? I found Never-Msrp but they seem to ship from the US.

          • +2

@bozbargain: I didn’t get the downvotes until I re-read the comment I responded to. I honestly spent 15 mins searching for an eBay seller with the name Never and found Never-Msrp (who do sell iPhones btw). I get it now, the ‘both’ cleared it up for me. Tough crowd here with their negs.

    • +1

By then, they will remove iphone listing.

    • +3

15% + 18% gift cards + TRS + cashback will make this really worth it !

    • +3

3% ($36) off an apple product is a deal. Take care of the cents and the dollars will take care of themselves.

      • +1

It's not a great deal considering anyone can buy 5% discounted Wish cards via Cash Rewards which can be used at Big W.

      • +1

        that's so sad :(

      • +2

I’d rather pay the extra $35 to go to a physical store and take home my new iPhone that day rather than risk $1100 with AusPost, but to each their own

        • +1

          Can't argue with this

  • +1

This price can be used to price beat at jb hifi?

    • Doubt it since it uses a code.

      • Thx

  • Ideal for those who love iPhone in black and accept 64GB storage. While I’m not, especially my current phone storage is used by over 100GB, it will be a problem when moving content from old to new phone.

  • Nice deal but I found this guy selling them at 8% off on whirlpool with no size or colour limitations.

    • Can you pm details please ?

    • +1

PICKLE only gets 3% off. Wait for 10-20% and stack with 18% off gift cards for critical hit

      • Where can I get the discounted gift cards?

    • Don't know why popper10 can be applied if you buy 2, but not for 1? :o

      • Because it’s 15% off on the second item

  • Is this really the best price? Maybe I should get xr then.

    • +4

The price difference is worth it.

      The 11 I mean.

  • -8

Ugly looking phone. Expected much better to be honest. The Bezel and notch are hideous for a phone in 2019.

  • -6

My next phone probably Android when my iPhone 6s die or too slow, don't mind both OS but lower spec iPhone 11 still cost around $1200, half the price can get a decent Android.

    • -1

This lower spec iPhone blows away the high spec androids in benchmark tests

      • -2

Because benchmark tests is all that matters, right?

I just moved from oneplus 6t to an iPhone 11 and performance is the same. I don't see why a 1200$ phone only has 720p screen and only 5w charger so yes, stevelo has a point. It's overpriced.

        • The irony is I was (badly) pointing out specs aren’t everything lol
Sounds like you should return, get a refund and buy an android.
Each to their own, I ain’t going back to android myself … urgh

  • With notch and 2 cameras it looks like Android phone from 2017.

    • -1

Have to agree. Seriously horrible looking phone.

    • Apple are in their third year of this design cycle. Next year will likely be a completely different design. Got to agree, this design is looking pretty tired.

  • Merchants really have to change price on XR XS both around same price as this . Means only value is this baby but for me need a pro .

  • 57+ upvotes. 1700+ clicks for the item.. 1 item sold..

    • +2

Just because people don't end up buying it, doesn't mean it isn't a good deal

      • -2

        Errr… It does mean that.

  • For the first time, in a long time, iPhone prices do seem fair for its features compared to its competitors

    • Nah, still overpriced.

      • +1

All major mainstream smartphones are overpriced except Xiaomi

        • Is oneplus overpriced too?
          Are Huawei overpriced?

          No.

    • +1

Nope, don’t fall into Apple’s tricky naming scheme. This is their budget phone it’s comparable to Samsung A series. Their flagship is double the price of S/Note 10 series.

  • Woolworths team members can get 10% off on this at store??

    • Not for Apple products :(

    • The Woolworths company actually have their own Apple discount from the Apple website. You can get discounted iPhones from the actual website but you just gotta wait for a few weeks/months after the launch. As a employee of Woolworths, there’s heaps of discounts given to us that hardly anyone knows.

      To access:
      1) login to your PlusClub https://plusclub.woolworths.com.au/
      2) search for Apple
      3) visit website

  • Wait for iPhone 12

  • -2

Apple has to have a reason to be expensive sadly they just good at making money out of %1 items.

Looks like my mi max 3 black in 64gig, luckily miui has a better look, you can customise anything on xioami miui, it can look like windows phone, apple os, android, and miui has so many free screensavers 1000's

  • Just wondering can you use gift card and coupon code at the same time?
I try to buy some cord yesterday with PACKED15 but only allowed me to pay full price with gift card or used coupon code and pay with card only.

    • I really hope this is not the case. Would they have changed this after the influx of 18% off eBay voucher purchases?

    • Me too… the only reason I bought the gift cards was to stack them with 20% off deals

    • I don't see any issues using eBay egift cards with coupons

      https://imgur.com/a/3VqbtZW

  • I had the last Xr for 7 months got it cheap off gumtree, i wouldn't pay anywhere near this price for a new one.

    • Not much cheaper from gumtree seller

  • It be like magic if a 10% or 15 % code appears how fast these bad boys will fall .

Be like a fast fingers Ebay crazy promo lol.

  • this is like getting a Ferrari with manual roll-up windows, no power steering, hubcaps, tape player, etc….
    I recommend getting more memory.

    • you cannot get more memory on an iPhone

      • You can. The iPhone 11 has 33% more than the Xr.

        • he was referring to the OP, not to the XR. all iPhone 11 have the same memory

          • @snvl: But you also know he probably meant gigabytes of storage…

  • Nice to see Apple being aggressive this time in trying to sell their phones, they know economy is about to slow down and their full prices just don’t sell anymore

    • I think this is just BigW experimenting a bit with their eBay shop, not so much Apple. I haven’t seen any proper discounts on the 11. Waiting for an eBay 15% off promo!

  • Anyone ordered this phone (or the XR) from Big W eBay over the last few days? My order has been showing “Status:
Being Fulfilled”, hoping to get it by Wednesday since I’m going overseas. Their customer service wasn’t particularly helpful, couldn’t say whether it would be sent via a courier or through AusPost either.

    • They haven't shipped mine either. Looks like back-order

    • +1

Edit: I got notification that it was shipped yesterday
