Just a little unsure on what zone 3 means, I feel like an idiot when it comes to solar

  • +6

Cannot find Hybid inverter in provided link. Ozb description does not match link details. Looks like bait advertising.

    • Yes the link landing page is for a Growatt inverter & 21 x 315W black mono half cut cell panels. No Huawei inverter listed there.

  • Tasmania regional included? State locations in title helpful

  • Didn't know huawei does solar

  • +11

This is just the same as your last deal with a different inverter…

Do we get a new post every week for the same thing?

Same comments re 'quality',bill buster, etc etc as before

Posting it as a new person doesn't change anything.

    • Right on schedule SBOB turns up to undermine solar bargains smh

      • +7

regardless, its a dupe of the previous deal, and they made a new user account to post it also.

for someone with minimal solar knowledge based on your previous posts, you sure seem to disregard info by those who likely have much more than you

        • -2

          hey SBOB.

Not trying to be a smart ass here. I don't know the history between you and Bellpop.
Are you against Solar or just think the deals posted are rubbish.

I must say, this one stinks of future drama.

          • +7

            @porcho77:

Are you against Solar or just think the deals posted are rubbish.
I must say, this one stinks of future drama.

I have solar on my roof. I have an elec/engineering background and did a heap of research prior to the install, including installation requirements and standards.
I pulled an old crap one off my roof of the place i bought, due to the previous owner installing stuff like this that failed in a handful of years.

I think equipment (this inverter isnt bad, the one in the previous deal was terrible) and installs like the one the OP is offering are too cheap to be of value and will most likely lead to lower ROI (solar ROI shouldnt be 'break even', but ~10-20 year profit), poor installation, early future landfill etc etc

            and no history
Bellpop has signed up for a deal and doesn't seem to appreciate anyone, most likely with plenty more solar equip/install knowledge than them, pointing out how poor the quality of this equipment/install will likely be.
Its their dime, but its likely going to be a future 'i told you so' kind of purchase

            • @SBOB: Thanks mate!

Any tips. I've been looking around but have been holding off because I'm considering getting battery to go along with it.
Most of our power usage is later in the day and at night so a battery will get the most out of the system

              • +3

                @porcho77:

I'm considering getting battery to go along with it.

pretty hard to make those numbers stack up to be honest

get a decent FIT and its likely more beneficial than ROI

I'd go as big a system as you can, as with current 15c+ FIT deals, its pretty easy to end up with a net $0 (or positive credit) bill.
ROI on a bigger system will beat a battery setup currently. Can always add battery if/when the sums work out.

I only have a 6.6kw panel/5kw inverter setup, N/W panel mix so not the best layout for 'year round' generation due to roof space/orientation, but does better in summer months.

If the budget allows, buy quality gear and pick your installer based on reviews.
                - LG/Winaico/QCell/etc level panels
                - Fronius/SolarEdge/Enphase level inverters (depending on install requirements)

Might cost more up front, but assuming you arent leaving your house any time soon, I'd rather not be replacing it in 5 years and throwing cheap gear back into landfill (kind of defeats the purpose of renewable energy)

                • @SBOB: Thanks for the tips mate. Legend!

                  • +1

                    @porcho77: I'll back SBOB here.

Lots of research into it and ended up with a 6.5kw panel/5kw inverter N/W setup. Was quoted QCell panels but ended up with LG due to availability and running through a Fronius inverter with smart meter.

Great setup installed by a local installer, around $5k after rebate and they did a great job.

                    • @XeKToReX:

LG due to availability and running through a Fronius inverter with smart meter.

                      same :)

though mine cost more than 5k..
that's a f*** steal for LG panel setup (though depends on install area i guess, and how recently etc..havent checked recent lg/fronius deals)

Huawei or Growatt? they are a different company

  • In NT Solar cost at least $8000 to install. Why is this so cheap?

    • +1

They don’t need to to shipping to Darwin, cyclone coding…. also many cheap installs like this have cheap to dangerous workmanship.

They also use shit gear that won’t last 10 years

      • Fair enough but shipping should be that much right? It's almost 3 times the price.

        • It adds up, none of this cheap shit is approved to used in NT ( Due to Cyclones)

          • @liveish: Fair enough. I got a quote of $7600 for 22 Jinko Solar Panels and a 5kw Fronius inverter installed. Seem expensive compared to this offer. I know you said the equipments used in this one is crap but how much better are the Jinko and Fronius?

            • @HandsomeMonkey:

              Jinko

a fair bit, going from bargain basement to 'entry-mid level'

              and Fronius?

heaps… for a string setup its pretty much the #1 inverter on the market

              • @SBOB: Ahh OK, Thanks. Will go with these two then. BTW how much better are the LG panels? It's double the Jinko's price.

                • @HandsomeMonkey: 25 year full manufacturer warranty (ie proper warranty, they'll pay to replace the panels etc, none of this 'efficiency warranty'), top couple in terms of build quality
They cost more for a reason but 'double' can be tough to justify

Could look at QCell, Winaico etc as similar step-ups from Jinko with slightly lower price tags than LG if you're trying to fit a particular budget

                  • @SBOB: Thanks. I'll do abit more research on it. Looking to spend about 10000 on it but I want to make sure that it's worth the money.

                • @HandsomeMonkey: I live in Darwin and went REC and Fronius.

Lg was not worth the ROI time in my book.

                  • +1

@liveish: Thanks man. We went with the Jinkos and Fronius for $7260 and took 5 years extended warranty.

Might get a free roof when your system goes up in flames, if it work that is hahhaha

    • +1 this

people wouldnt buy from ebay sellers with feedback like this, but dropping $3k+ and putting live electrical equipment on their house..thats a bargain?

  • +1

Do the Huawei panels send excess power back into the grid of the glorious people's republic of ☭China☭

    • if you can, you can win a Nobel price. just go for it.

  • Will they give away my solar usage information to China as part of the deal?

    • you'll be giving it to the installer via wifi. They will monitor the performance for you, or at least they should.

  • +1

    Ban this mob.

  • Cheap for a reason. No mention of panel brand. Most will be in the landfill in less than 5 years.

  • +1

This was better value +$100 extra for better panels.

  • +2

Mod should've ban this business already

  • While I'm still interested to hear more about the install experiences, I do agree that these posts are just duplicates.

If you ask them for a quote, they will give you all of the different options available.

  • Too many bad experiences with these people amongst me and my friends. Stay away

That like saying a $399 65"LG TV is good as LG has no chance of going bankrupt anytime soon.

    • +2

      Bloomberg Tier 1 Panels

      means nothing
and you know it (and if you dont, you shouldnt be selling this stuff)

means 'finanially', the company makes a lot of panels…has ZERO bearing on the quality of those panels, the efficiency, technology or the warranty support or anything else that actually matters

  • 24 x 275W Solar Panels (insert Brand and Model Number

Are you F kidding me 😂😂

    • +1
