    Amazing price tbh

  • +3

$440 postage to Brisbane hurts a bit

    • $220 I think.

Then $220 for each additional one, according to the listing.

Or did you get $440 at checkout?

      • From what I can tell:
        $110 Inner Melbourne
$220 Outer Melbourne / Regional VIC

      • Appliance Central's postage rates range from $40 (inner Sydney) to $440 (e.g. Toowoomba, QLD), and possibly even more.

        • It would depend on item size too. I see they deliver 65" tvs for $45 or $65

          • +1

@BooYa: Oops. Yeah. I meant to say for this TV. You're right that it varies according to the specific product.

    • $220 to WA.
Sigh. Any way can make the postage cheaper?

      • I wonder if getting it delivered by a different courier would be cheaper, considering they offer free local pickup.

      • +3

Ask them to fold it double?

        • Lol

  • +2

I tried with Ebay plus for free shipping but not applicable.
Got $220 postage to the Gold Coast. $1800 is the best I have seen so I jumped on.

Awesome price, nice find OP. I have just received my R8 else i could have taken this.

    • Stop mentioning about the R8 man. I missed that deal.

      • Sorry man, just to make you feel better majority retailers have increased the price to $1995. Videopro is cheapest but no stock.

        • +1

Lol that doesn't makes me feel better. But thanks. Yeah have been keeping an eye since then. Keep on checking every half an hour or so. Messaged Appliance Central if they can bring back the same price but no response. So yeah, I will wait.

    • Can you link the r8 deal?

  • Is the $60 shopback cashback with purchases over $500 still on? And would it apply to this tv?

    • Nope, those deals usually only last for one day

      • Ok thanks mate

      • It's for days like this I should have bought the 10% off eBay gift cards …

  • +2

Keep an eye on these at Costco. I've seen it as cheap as $1499 a month or so ago.

  • Despite working an hour ago the link I posted in the original post was showing that they were out of stock.

However the TV was simply relisted on a different eBay page, and I updated it.

So, if you were looking at the deal recently and saw no stock available, you can use it again using the updated link.

  • Dang it, bought last sunfay from videopro for $1790…

  • Added to the deal an LG 75" Smart 4K UHD AI Thinq TV 75UM7600PTA for $1,592

    • -1

And $100 visa gift card, although this one has much wider border which in my opinion really ugly.

      • Where is the Visa offer? Do you have a link? So I can add it.

        Thanks

      • Thanks for the tip. I looked it up, and found the link to the VISA offer.

        • Can you share the link? Tried to search but came up empty
          Cheers

  • $1640 for a 75" Samsung TV delivered.. that's amazing.

    • Delivery can be $220 or more.

Were you quoted around $40 for delivery?

I know it depends on the area.

      • Quoted me $40 for Sydney CBD.

I wonder how much wall mounting is worth since HN has it fully installed wall mounted and delivered for $1995 before haggling.

        • I have no idea how much wall mounting costs, are you sure they offer that instead of just a setup on the stand?

          I'm curious muself.

As for the differences - its $400 before haggling (I'm not sure HN would budge much from this price).

But if the cost difference is not that much then you might prefer to have it wall mounted just for the convenience (do they just mount it on the bracket, or do they also run the cables behind the wall?).

          • @BooYa: Haven’t investigated as it’s for a friend.

            But here’s a link to HN: https://www.harveynorman.com.au/samsung-75-inch-ru7100-4k-uh…

            • @jace88: Thanks.

              • @BooYa: I’m pretty sure they do bare minimum walk mount. Maybe they use a cable concealer stick to the wall to make it tidy but doubt it’s anything more than that. But it’s more convenient I suppose than Airtasker and having to do it in multiple days.

                • @jace88: I think you're probably right, I doubt HN would even allow installers to drill holes in the wall just to run cables, otherwise they'd be liable for any damages.

But for me, even that would be very handy, because I don't know the first thing about wall mounting a TV (I don't even know which wall brackets are compatible or recommended by Samsung).

Last thing I'd want is for the thing to fall and not only smash the tv, but also damage the wall, but if HN did it they'd be liable for damages (unless you have to sign a disclaimer or something before they do it).

  • How does the Samsung compare to OzBargain favorite Hisense 65R8? Thinking about returning my order from VideoPro or if someone wants to take it off my hands, more than happy to sell.

    • +1

I'd never touch a Hisense, but that's just me.

I love Samsung tvs and watches and that, unlike Hisense, that they're not made in China.

But, they're often not the best value for money, and Hisense is probably the best of the 2nd tier tv brands (after Samsung, LG, and possibly Sony).

Samsung make great screens for the money, but they have been criticized for lack of polish in other areas such as the user interface, apps, etc.

So, it's hard to beat a Hisense in terms of value, but if you want to gamble on a tv where you're guaranteed NOT to have buyer's remorse get a Samsung or LG.

      • You are backed by 3 years warranty over 12 months though. Its the silver bezel that gets me on the Hisense. Why?

        • No, Samsung have a 2 year in-home service (I used them once and my tv was fixed at home in 2 working days).

But they would both have longer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law.

          • @BooYa: Since when do Samsung do 2 years warranty? Consumer law guarantees as fine as longas you can be bothered arguing it with the manufacturer as technically they dont have to do squat. The onsu is on the buyer to convince them they have to cover it. Id prefer the peace of mind of an actual manufacturer warranty myself and not have to hope they come to the party.

      • I made a mistake above - I wrote "Samsung make great screens for the money …" but I meant Hisense (user interface and apps not as good as Samsung's).

But it's too late to edit now.

Ps. Of course that's just my personal opinion.

I Paid $1701 for my RU7100WXXY 75 inch last week spewing Mad deal

    • Above deal would most likely have cost you more with delivery.
