lol, who has ever paid full price for a new car ???

    • -4

      But I don't thing anyone can nego 4800 ;)

      • +1

that really depends on what makes up the $24,790… they is a huge margin on accessories…

        Challenge accepted!

        • New is always better!

        • +1

          I only have one rule!

      • +2

mate ! paid 24500$ for Mazda 3 Maxx Auto in NOV10. Remember, If you dont nego then u get ripped off…

    • jv said - "lol, who has ever paid full price for a new car ???"

I say - all those that had to have the Mk V VW Golf GTI when it first came out is a good example of this.

  • +18

This is such a great deal I am going to buy 5 of them and sell them on ebay!!!

Seriously though, when it comes to new cars it is extremely difficult to determine what a "bargain" is in this way, as new cars very rarely sell for a fixed / advertised price.

    • Hey mate,

I'm adam one of the Co-founders of CarJoy.

Thats the problem we were having….so, that's why we created CarJoy.

We really want transparency in the auto industry, so we decided to advertise our prices upfront and GUARANTEE them.

Feel free to buy as many as you like!

      Adam

    • +1

Agreed. This price is off the charts. My sister bought a NEO (and negotiated) at the start of the year for 23,000. this is $3000 off negotiated price. bulk buy indeed.

  • +1

    wow, seriously?

    • They are cereal

      • +1

        yes, super serial

  • +3

seems to be a good price, just a couple of hundred less than what can be haggled:
    example: http://www.ozmazdaclub.com/3-323-discussion/4237-mazda-3-pri…

maybe good if haggling is not your style.

    • +1

Except you also just lost any bargaining power on extras, or trade in.

Unfortunately when it comes to such high ticket items, the only real way to get a bargain is by shopping around, comparing deals and eventual haggling.

It's also why no one in their right mind enjoys car hunting! :P

      • +4

maybe good if haggling is not your style and you don't want any extras and have no trade in

      • Hi dvsbastard,

I'm Adam one of the co-founders of CarJoy.

I can promise, even guarantee that you won't find a better price than this.

You can still negotiate for any extras or trade in with our dealers. We just get you the best price for the base model.

This is seriously the best price you will find anywhere. You need to remember that if a dealer is giving you a better price for a trade-in, he can only do this because he is upping the price of your new car!

You can purchase this car using carjoy, and if you don't like the price that our dealer gives for your trade in, you are free to sell it privately or elsewhere!

Feel free to give me a call if you have any questions on 1800 CAR JOY.

        Thanks,
        Adam

    • As mentioned @ the website…

At CarJoy, we guarantee you will receive an unbeatable price on your new car.

If you happen to find a better price, we’ll beat it by $500*!

      • +2

on what? haggled price? advertised price? i read people getting heaps of extras for around the 22k mark auto. will they beat this? I don't think so

        • +1

          Hi tchl6,

You can read our price guarantee at CARJOY.com.au. Its open, honest and simple.

I can promise our extras are at VERY competitive prices too.

Other dealers can't match our prices because our customers purchase in bulk…..there are no catches. It's just a smarter way of doing things.

          Thanks for your comments.
          Adam

      • +1

good stuff! but what does the asterisk mean?

  • +4

19,990 is manual, auto is 21,990. All in all, no cheaper than what you can get at a dealer. At least at a dealer if something goes wrong, you know who to go back to (in person) and complain. Who are you going to complain to here, some offshore person over the phone? no thanks

    • -1

Just spoke to carjoy who advised it works exactly same as buying off showrooms…Looks like they have tie up with west end Mazda.

    • +1

this deal would be arrranged through a local dealer who wants to move 10 cars.
you will get same dealer service here, they are just be using carjoy as their marketing tool.

    • LOL… It is not posted to you from China LOL

    • Hi guys,

I'm one of the co-founders of carjoy.

You can contact carjoy anytime from 8am-8pm 7 days. Feel free to give us a call. We can also arrange a test drive and come to you if you live in Sydney Metro.

We are trying to up the standards in the auto industry. If you have any questions about extras, we can also put you in touch with our partnered dealers….. I can promise we are not offshore! We would never do that. Our whole website is tailored to bringing you personalised service.

      Thanks,
      Adam

Lol car bargains! This has to be a first right?

    • +3

The power of Ozbargain is growing! I reckon its good to see car deals. We need more of these and tool deals

      • i think its just spam, they found a site where people spend money on bargains, they wrap a turd in a bow and say look "bargain" and assume we are stupid and will buy it. Sorry but my thumbs down, I am sure any of us could walk into a dealer tomorrow and get a better deal.

        • Hi Hotzone,

          Thanks for your comment.

          I'm one of the co-founders of carjoy.com.au.

I can promise you this is the best price going round, I can even guarantee it. We have been into other dealerships to test our prices and to be frank, they tell you to go away! We have done all the negotiating for you. If you happen to find a better price, we will beat it by $500! You can read about our price guarantee on our site.

We can obtain these great prices for our customers because we use leverage the group buying power of individuals….we see it as the new way to buy a a car. Unbeatable prices with personalised service.

I'm glad that someone has recognised it as a bargain on Ozbargain!

Any questions, feel free to give us a call.

          Thanks,
          Adam

    • haha… 10 houses for sale… be quick only 6 left at a bargain $500,000 .. At prices this good they wont last long.

This idea may work with cars but with houses, things that are worth more money over time ( given enough time for inflation to work its magic )are almost never sold on the cheap!

Mass produced cars are worthless given enough time.

lol… its in the papers for special at 21,990 drive away

This deal is $2000 LESS! then the special advertised price. so its a very good deal

        • +1

my guideline for a new car is 15% less than the best advertised price…

  • depends on model\brand\supply\demand jv

    • Keep dreaming JV, you talk alot of hype! Do you have a day job?

      • +1

jv's got a point. dealership margins are far higher than you seem to think. they earn from a sale on multiple levels, not just a simple 10% sale margin per se. its more like 10% margin on rrp, 5% dealer delivery, 3% rebate, 2% bonuses, miscellaneous fringe benefits like free company car for certain staff, free services.

my best estimate is 15-25% margin on your normal driveaway price.

edit: and the fact that new car dealerships are as fancy as they are… you'd be a fool to think they're just scraping by?

  • Just bought one of these in WA
Paid $22990 drive away (auto). RRP is $23990. Couldnt get them down much and had to work to get it this low. They claimed that this is a 'Mazda special offer' and that the dealer's margin had been cut by Mazda to get this price.

    • but remember, this is group buying so essentially like bulk buying

    • +3

you cant believe anything the car sales tell you, esp when they give you specific reasons why they cant lower their price and blame on (insert someone/company etc here). They always want to "help" you etc. This is just personal experience. E.g. Going from $500 max off (attached is a long story/lost of reasons why) to $7200 at the same dealership. After all, they lie for a living.

      • +1

imp, thats a shame, I wish you had come to carjoy first!

scheps. I would agree, but in this case the price he received was actually quite a good one….. CarJoy is only able to get these great prices because of our group buying power….thats why we can guarantee them!

  • +1

I am impressed with this bargain….!!!!

  • +1

    Next…house bargains…lol

  • +1

+1 for the concept. Bring it to Adelaide!

    1. MY10, advertised as 2011 build? sounds fishy… never heard of a build year more recent than model year.

    2. The photos in the deal are NOT NEO.

    edit: removed point 3

  • MY10 means build in 2010, don't get mislead. not surprised if the price is for a 2010 build tho, for about a grand more you get the MY11!

    • +1

      humblebee,

I am one of the co-founders of carjoy.com.au

Apologies if you feel misled. ALL the ADVERTISED MAZDA 3 NEOs are 2011 built. We didn't mean to include MY10 in the description.

My mistake. It has since been taken down.

      Kind Regards,
      Adam

  • given MY12 is around the corner, perhaps MY10 purchase for nearly same as MY12 price isn't the best idea.

  • A similar deal could be negotiated with extras thrown in, especially on a MY10 model. However, it can be difficult to negotiate on cars that sell well like the Mazda3.

  • Pretty sure the photos shown of the Mazda 3 on the website are not the NEO. Neo doesn't have fog lights or alloy wheels.

    • +1

      Hi Timmye,

I'm one of the co-founders of carjoy.

      Thanks for your comment.

These are the photos we received from Mazda Australia Corporate. They are the 2011 Mazda 3 neo. However, some of them have extras which are not included in the base model. We have tried to state this in the fine print as best we can.

Mazda typically don't take photos of just the standard car, as they always want you to purchase some extras!

      Thanks,
      Adam

  • How much is shipping?

    • Hi Scott,

I'm one of the co-founders of carjoy.

Give us a call on 1800 CARJOY and we can work out how much shipping is. We do it at cost price for the dealership. It depends on where you are located….

      Cheers,
      Adam

  • +2

This can be a bargain or not depending on the person looking to buy.
If you can negotiate well, not fall for car sales person's tricks, then you will most likely to negotiate a better price or atleast get some extras for free.

Its an important point to note its a MY10, already a year or more old… Might be worthwhile to check what RRP from a dealer.

Like most said here, RRP is a not the price you'd buy at. Unless you are really stupid.

    • I think that the MY11 isn't built until later this year. Built date vs Compliance date is a bit of a scam, so be sure of what you are buying before signing anything, oh and the laws differ from state to state.

      • you mean MY12.

they usually start building the next year's model in the middle of the current year.

        • no I mean MY11

        • MY11 has been on sale since late last year though

    • +1

      Hi Bozter,

I'm Adam one of the founders of carjoy.

Apologies if we misled you. All the Mazda Neos we are advertising are 2011 BUILT. We made a mistake by including the MY10. I have since fixed this up.

Thanks for pointing this out. Yes, it is always very important to check when the car was actually build.

Feel free to give us a call if you have any questions.

      Cheers,
      Adam

  • Isn't this the normal price for the base model? How is this a bargain?

    Free unique visitors…

    • No. Cheapest in Vic I've seen them for is 21,990 DA for Manual 3 Neo

  • +1

2 grand off the RRP list price of a legacy model? This is hardly a deal. If anything it is either standard or even overpriced unless you make a habit of letting car dealers rip you off. No deal!

  • Not bad but Kia Cerato is $19,790 drive-away for the Si. Better warranty, much more power, 6-speed auto option, more fuel efficient. I don't know why it's overlooked so much.

    • because it's a Kia.

      • -1

nothing wrong with a Kia, atleast its not a skoda

    • +1

The kia is a great car MrZ

I'll try to arrange a deal for the Cerato soon on Carjoy.com.au.

I'm sure we can beat that price!

      Thanks,
      Adam

  • Mr Z, When you factor in resale value on the Kia's, They are not really that cost efficient compared to the Mazda's. Nobody wants them

    • Can't argue with that. But if you were to lease it, then resale wouldn't matter.

  • +2

Bought 10 and listed them on ebay :D

  • just came back from officeworks.
They beat it 5%. Got it for $20890.50.

Only Liverpool store has got 2 left. All others sold out. Think Officeworks got Ozbargained with this deal!

  • Hi adam, could you clarify if it is MY11 or MY10?

    • Hi Kimmik,

      Apologies for the confusion.

I have confirmed with our dealership and all the models are 2011 built, so MY11.

Any questions, just give our team a call on 1800 CAR JOY.

      Thanks for your interest,
      Adam

      • Thats a decent deal then, i'm looking forward to your future offers.

Can you give us any indication of the upcoming cars and prices at all? Maybe vw, peugeot, or ford?

        Thanks

        • Thanks Kimmik.

Thats our aim, to bring our customers UNBEATABLE deals.

I can't give you an indication yet sorry….but trust me, they are coming!

Yep, we are independent of any one dealer or manufacturer so you will see all types of cars on there shortly….

If you have a car you want to see on there, 'suggest a car' on the homepage (www.carjoy.com.au) and if it comes up in the next two months, you will get an additional $150 off!

          Cheers,
          Adam.
