Not a great price without the discount code (only $10 less than RRP), but works out pretty decent after discount for people wanting a Switch Lite (I won’t debate that the regular Switch is better value, just posting for people that want a Switch Lite. Joycon drift comments in 3, 2, 1…) and a copy of Link’s Awakening which launches alongside the Lite on 20th September.
I own two PS4 Pro's (one in media room and another for my racing simulator) and I can tell you that there's equally as good of a gaming experience to be had from the Switch. This is why it's outselling everything now. I won't be buying a lite as I'm happy with my launch console but this is a hell of a console.

Well that depends on how well it would have sold before hand. I mean the Xbox One never did sell well overall this gen whereas the PS4 sold by the truckload until it began to run out of steam (because most potential customers/gamers had one already) if the switch continues to sell as it is then yeah, sure, sales will begin to slow later on. Then again I think the lite will sell well to the 3DS customer base which is of course absolutely massive.
Also, the Switch has already surpassed PS4 lifetime sales in Japan.
The Wii managed to sell boatloads in an era of 360 and ps3 so I have hope the switch will still see strong sales once next gen comes out.
I'm not buying them this time. Halo 5 sucked balls. Psvr was fun for a few weeks. Only the WiiU and switch get regular usage now.
I bought consoles for split screen, which basically died with the Xbox1/PS4 release.
Why the Switch is outselling other consoles has multiple factors. As others have said the PS4 and XB1 are near the end of this gen. Then the next factor is the Switch has cannibalized sales of the 3DS.
Let's see how many lites sell before we decided that switch is only selling because the other consoles are old hat and all the 3DS owners have already bought one. I know a couple of people myself who are buying these for their younger kids.

It depends on my mood. I enjoyed playing Sniper Elite 4 last night for a few hours, lots of immersion and fully enjoyable. Other day I want something a bit more light hearted and pick up the Switch.
The lite version is currently for sale on Catch at $298, if you have 20% off gift cards from last week's Coles deal, the price comes down to $250ish.

It’s an OK deal with the game included. But you are still arguably better off getting the “full” switch for that price and the game on top. Seems a better deal.
Gamesmen had the switch for $349 with a game last I checked but unsure of stock now.
Read my description. This shouldn't be a debate over which system is better. Whether you agree with it or not, some people actually want the Lite.

It does, and a lot of reviewers have tore down the joycons in these and found they're exactly the same and are prone to the same drifting issue. The bigger problem is the switch lite's joycons aren't removable from the console

Get the Lite. If you plan on traveling a lot.

Really depends on the individual. With the Lite you need to factor in the cost/weight/annoyance of an obligatory power brick for overseas travel. The revised version with almost double battery life will be the better option for some.
Original 80s Gameboy Pocket with Link's Awakening holds up well. :) I choose that.

I owned a Switch that suffered from drifting on the left joycon.
I can at worst, just replace the faulty left Joycon with a new one but this Lite version means if you left Joy Con is stuffed, you cant replace it unless you buy a new Switch Lite.
Not actually true, the drift fix is an easy one tbh. Spray under the stick with electrical contact spray and then work it in by rotating the stick. I'm not defending Nintendo here because it should never have been an issue in the first place but it's not something that can't be easily fixed.
I've repaired 10 Joycons in my house doing this.
Oh. I tried recalibrating and it helped a but it still does it. Sometimes I didnt touch it and it suddenly moves up.
So spray helps huh? will take note.
