Free Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership via Ingogo & Luxury Escapes

731

I went travelling with a colleague and he didn't have a Qantas Frequent flyer account and we found 2 links that let you sign up up for free!

https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=INGOGO
https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=luxuryescapes

Usually this is $99.50. I don't think there's an expiry (possibly until ozbargained) so get in before it's no longer available!

Enjoy.

I think if you have ever paid for a QFF account, you should just hand in your Ozbargain license and be banned from this website.

    • +6

It wasn't always possible to join up for free. I joined up 15 years ago and back then there was no sign up for free options, if you wanted to join you paid.

      • +16

Are you seriously trying to tell me that the world was worse in the olden days? Can you have a chat with my mother in law. She disagrees.

        • Not worse, just more expensive (except for housing) :-)

          • @kierand: Ye… keep rubbing it in… (re housing)

        • +5

Acting like 2004 was the olden days

      • +4

        I signed up in 1995 for free….

      • +1

It has pretty much always been possible to join for free. I joined for free over 20 years ago. My wife about 15 years ago, maybe you were not aware of the various free options but they definitely existed.

      • +2

Ozbargain started 13 years ago so you probably didn’t know where to sign up for free.

    • +6

I think they call it a stupidity tax. Paying them so they can collect data on you & on-sell it. Jackpot!

  • anything similar to this for velocity?

    • +1

      Velocity is free

    • Isn't Velocity Frequent Flyer is free to join?

    • +56

      Yep use the code -$349m.

      • +5

They should have joined an Alliance. Star Alliance makes sense considering Singapore is a close partner of theirs (but there's the Delta partnership issue too).

I add their CEO John Borghetti said "choosing partners one by one is far more beneficial to our business model, than simply joining one of the three global alliances and being ‘stuck’ with all of the partners in that alliance". This has not aged well. At All.

        • I forgot about that. But of course who’d want to side with Singapore Airlines rather then Delta.
The latter makes customers appreciate your planes & staff.

  • +2

Wait what?!! We had to pay to declare our loyalty?!!

  • +10

    Always free from Woolworths.

  • +10

    Always free through Woolworths.
Or if you looked at other qantas deals previously posted you'd see many other codes to get it free:
    - https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=FAMILYFREE
    - https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=ANZ
    - https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=AVIS

So I don't think there's much likelihood of this being 'ozbargained'.

  • +11

    Plenty of free codes

    WOOLWORTHS
    KOGAN
    AVIS
    FAMILYFREE
    JAXTYRES
    ANZ
    WESTPAC
    CBA
    NAB
    JETSTAR

    Etc etc

Just add you code after the ?code= In this URL:
    https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=

    E.g.
    https://www.qantaspoints.com/join-now?code=SPIRIT

I actually know someone who paid for it last year. I was surprised they hadn't asked me about it first, would've saved them the $$$

    • +14

Drop them as a friend, it's not worth it.

  • +13

If you use foreign address to join, it is always free, QANTAS only rip off AU customers.

  • +3

    This is the normal price

    • +2

      Is that you JV?

Thanks for the effort to let others know OP.

  • i got for free with the qantas cash card back in 2014

When do we have our own free code: OzBargain

    • They don't like us cause we just abuse CC sign up bonuses

      • Qantas don't care if you abuse CC sign ups, they are the ones getting the money from the banks…

  • Another Code is QANTASMONEY.

    Found here:

I wonder if there's any ozbargainer who doesn't have Qantas Frequent Flyer?

    • +2

Me. I have no idea what it does. Unless it's like Flybuys which I so rarely shop anywhere that has it, I think I have zero points - or ColesWorths cards which I've had for years and have something like $130 on Coles, and a few cash discounts so far at WW.

      • +3

If you have a Qantas-linked credit card, they're good for earning points on everyday transactions (groceries, fuel, etc). You earn points per dollar similar to Flybuys and most other rewards cards out there.

You also earn (frequent flyer/status) points by flying with Qantas or other partner affiliated airlines. Most savvy people apply for multiple credit cards per year to take advantage of bonus sign-on points. E.g. I just got approved the BankWest CC where they will award 90k Qantas points if you spend a minimum of $6k in the first 90 days of being approved.

Generally, people redeem business/first class flights using points (plus paying taxes/carrier fees). E.g. you can fly First Class on Emirates to Europe return from Sydney using your accumulated points + approx 1k in taxes/carrier fees. The same ticket (if purchased in cash would be between $7k-$8k).

It's definitely helped me with my travels over the years :)

        • Hm, ok - thank you. :-)

        • -1

You mean the same ticket would cost nearly $20,000 return…

          • @burgermaniac: My bad, yes approx 20k for First Class.
My head was thinking 7-8k for Business Class.

            • @daiguren: Yes, that Business class figure is pretty spot on however.
              Kudos to you

          • @burgermaniac: not sure why anyone would neg you for those comments. We actually used our points last year for first class. spent a little over 1k in fees and taxes from memory and saved us $32k (for 2 people, they were the sale prices, full price was over $42k)

      • My QFF card, and possibly everyone else’s (?), has a prepaid MasterCard facility (with Qantas Cash). I use it for online purchases at not great encryption sites. My real cards are all Visas so it’s handy for MasterCard only promotions too.

  • You need to pay for QFF? That's a first!

I have NFI because my number is 6 digits and my parents got it for me back in the 90's.

    • I'm jealous, mine's 7 digits but I think I was signed up in the late 90's.

  • I did not know you had to pay for the membership.

  • QFF membership is always free..

  • -4

Is this really a deal? You can sign up for free in many different ways, even by using fee-free credit card programs.

    • +1

It is for those who are not aware. My mate paid the full price the other day… and he uses ozbargain from time to time…

      • -1

My mate paid the full price the other day… and he uses ozbargain from time to time…

Time to hand in the OzBargain membership mate…

When I signed up for QFF, I didn't even know it was for free, but a quick Google Search later of "Free Qantas Frequent Flyer Membership" got me there

        • +2

Most ozbargainers would go onto ozbargain and search Qantas frequent flyer membership. Which is why you shouldn't neg this deal.

  • Isn't is free for hoyts rewards members too, which is also free.

Any way to get Free Qantas Club lounge access without Platinum & Gold?

    • Walk in sneakily and hide in a corner of the Qantas Club. Let them play where’s wally to find you and get you out.

      • +1

hmmm … can't decide whether to ditch my red & white stripe top or keep it coz it's in Qantas colours!

    • +1

yep, buy a business class ticket.

    • You can also get them from members who don't need their invitation/s.

      • want to be a close friend if you are expecting them for free. They are easy to sell for $50-$80 on ebay etc.

        • I just gave away a couple to the lucky one here…

  • I'm sorry but this is not a deal. If anyone actually pays for a QF membership they were too lazy to google for a free signup link and deserve to pay the fee. These free sign up codes are available all the time and have been available for many years.

  • What is the benefit of this club?

  • Don't forget this deal if you'd like a small discount along with your free QF Membership; https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/836450
