Also a big fan of LIFX, but thought I'd give these Kogan GU10's (https://www.kogan.com/au/buy/kogan-smarterhome-ambient-rgbw-…) a go and they have been rock solid. They work flawlessly with Alexa and Google Assistant. Obviously not of comparable quality to the LIFX bulbs but at $119 for 8 (shipped) they're good enough for me. Only 4.5W each but significantly brighter than the old GE 50W halogens they replaced.
Rather than replace all my light bulbs (which are all GU10, in all rooms in my house), I've replaced the light switches with Wemo jobbies. Much more affordable, but also the benefit is much less of a demand on the network also - i.e. rather than 50 devices trying to connect directly to the one router, I have only 5 or 6 light switch connections to manage.

Only thing is you can’t change the colour of the lights.

I’m a LIFX fanboy, but $100 for two bulbs like that is super expensive and frankly quite bonkers. Especially since a lot of the time you need a few for a room.
