Playstation 3 Move Bundle for $398 on bigw website.

I guess it is a bargain. After deducting move from package ($65 in HN), the console only costs aroun $330.

Looks like a good time to get a PS3 now.

It's worth mentioning that this is a 160GB console and not a 320GB.

Also worth to mention theres a rumor ps3 drops price in august

  • Target [Cairns] had 120GB PS3's on clearance for 329 today. These reductions appear to be state or nation-wide based on recent Target deals seen here. Could be a better deal if you don't want Move.

  • Just bought a 320GB ps3 and it's amazing. Don't really need that much space so 160GB + Move for less than $400 is an excellent deal. Go for it.

  • The new modeled ps3 that are coming out will have stronger anti hack measures on the console, so if you plan on sticking it to sony get the older model ps3, if your law abiding it really makes little difference, except that a 160gb drive might be a little too small if you dl from ps store a lot

yeah but you could always pick up a cheap 3.5" hard drive and replace the standard one. The old PS3s won't let you install a second OS any more due to some firmware changes. (You basically have to choose between using the PSN/store and using a second OS… #$%#$%$#%$#)

        2.5" you mean.

Tempting seeing as my 40GB finally threw in the towel a few weeks back. How much fun are these Move thingos?

        • My 60GB is still working !! :)

My 80GB is still the bomb!

        • I am surprised at the confidence you have to immediately repurchase a product that has failed you. Does anyone know what sony charges for repairs? I beleive it is $250 flat, and thats enough to consider moving to PC gaming.

        • chyawala, What?
Haven't you heard early models of the PS3 have hardware issues, but later models don't.
          Especially the slim.

My 40gb is still going strong aswell.

Consider I paid $750 for my 40GB PS3 mid 2008, and it breaks two and a half years later. Then being hit up for replacement or phenomenal sony repair fees (for a refurb replacement not so reliable 40GB).
This kind of outlay increasingly makes PC gaming more affordable, durable and repairable, superior, and cheaper for games. Incorporate its usability and worth as your PC for other tasks, it becomes more worthy since Sony axed Linux support.

        • "My 80GB is still the bomb!"
Phats are a time bomb, just look at all the broken ones on ebay.

You can't compare PC vs consoles. Consoles are only meant for gaming but they have exclusive titles and convenience.
That said, I really am really interested as to why people keep buying the same console which failed them! What on earth is the logic here? Online friends? Achievements??
But then again I don't play online on my PS3 so what do I know.

  • I have a 160GB slim and 40GB Phat and I prefer the phat model. Better looking, quieter and better built. I dont think im going to use all 160gb anyway, thats heaps.

  • what's the system vision? 3.60?

    • Around that, it certainly won't be 3.55 or below.

    • Probably fairly low.
My 160gb I got last December had 3.50 on it. Which was a CECH-2502A.

  • My 60GB is still rocking, playing Infamous 2 =)

  • Out of stock already!?

Oops, just realised it's not the 30th!

  • interesting if they would let you swap black ops for Move?

    • i got a price match @ Dick Smith in-store and done exactly that! there is no way they can change the deal when buying online….

      • I just called them, and they said they don't price match online deals..

  • Wow quite cheap. I bought my 160GB PS3 a few months back for $400 without the Move bundle.
