[Refurb] Sony ZSPS50 CD Boombox $47.20 Delivered @ Sony eBay

POSTIE

My 20 year old cd alarm clock broke and my 2 year old was gutted. Was looking for a cheap replacement cd player that was easy enough for a 2 year old to use and this was pretty cheap. RRP $129. Not sure if anyone really uses cds these days so maybe this deal won't help many. Poor reviews on productreview, but 4.3 stars out of 60 reviews on Harvey Norman

  • supports USB playback & AUX input.
  • Portable function with 6x C batteries (battery life 26 hrs FM, 9 hrs CD).

Perfect gift to go along with the 30th anniversary of 'do the right thing' blu ray

  • Have updated the product title thanks

  • I actually just bought my grandmother the DAB one of these a couple of weeks back (ZSPS55). It works really well, very simple with some big buttons for the presets. Its actually quite hard to find a compact CD player with DAB/FM/AM. This thing is all of a foot long so it fit on her little side table easily, and sounds really quite good in small areas (like an old persons lounge room for example).

In some sense grandparents can be like young children. Looking for something simple, big buttons, click top cd loading (vs slot).. 12 month warranty on the refurb makes it a good purchase I think. Better than $30 on a nameless Kmart one

Done. Couldn't find info about what batteries it used.. Had to find an online manual. Now to see if I can find some C cell eneloops…

      • On Sony AU website you scroll down to the bottom of product page. And under the title ‘support’ you click ‘manuals’ which should take you to the user manual PDF.

Got this last year for $69 (also refurb), because it plays from USB, which is good for kids music in the toyroom. It has done us pretty well. Sounds nice, easy to use etc. Can run off batteries if you need it to, but it takes about 6 size D's.

    • According to the user manual it says 6x size C batteries. You may have a different model.

  • Probably better value to buy a Google Home + $5 Clock if you need to see the time and don't have an old/current mobile to use as a display.

  • hard to imagine this has good sound.

  • If it's anything like my mums sony cd boombox looing player from about 10 years (a grey one) the sound has no guts at all, but maybe i'm picky.

  • All valid comments, but this is for a 2 year old. Got plenty of speakers (smart / wireless / hifi) but she can't talk to Google yet.

  • Thanks. Bought one. Perfect for my grandmother.

  • Would be a alright work radio too
