The warm ones are half price too.

    • Can I use them to heat my room?

      • +1

Sure, but you'll need to use lots and lots and lots…

  • Struggling to find useful information online about these. Looking for a bulb replacement for 2 small bedrooms and 1 large, all have just 1 open light fitting.

    So i can buy 2 x 14w/1400 lumens for $7.50 or 1 x 11w/1055 lumens for $8.00 - What the?

If i look closely at the picture it seems maybe the circumference of the bulb where light will come out is slightly wider angle for the $8.00 single bulb. But geez, talk about confusing af with poor information.

Philips choose a bulb web site might help.

      • Thanks. Didn't see them listed.

1400 will be very bright for a bedroom. Choose something lower.

  • it is very hard to find any B15 dimmable, almost impossible

    • Aldi had some about a month or two ago.

      • I got one last year or so but it didn't last long enough. I guess it depends on your dimmmer unit

        • I can't even use mine. Wasn't aware how much bigger they are.

  • Thanks will go to Woolworths to pick a pack up tomorrow. Was going to replace one in our bathroom, the light fitting is the heat lamp combo 3 in 1, unsure if I want warm white or cool white lol

Cool White for the bathroom IMO

    • +1

Just put the warm white 1400lm in the bathroom and it’s way better than cool white in a modern house.

    • +5

Definitely warm white. Blends better with the heat lamp colour temp.

Makes the bathroom a cosy place not looking like a surgery theatre.

I can't stand cold white, with the harsh blue light.

The coolest I'd go is 3500 to 4000k.

      • +1

+1 for warm white and agree that cool white makes the room feel quite clinical and not relaxing IMO.

      • Cool daylight isn’t a blue light though. It’s a white light. I personally prefer bright her light unless it’s in a hotel room so cool daylight works perfect for me.

Wife prefers cool whit in the bathroom, says it’s better with using the mirror.

      • +1

Honestly then, maybe a globe that can change colour temp by switching on and off would be the ultimate solution - put to cool white for make up, but if having a relaxing bath you can turn to warm white, so it doesn't feel like you're having a bath in a dentist surgery.

Wife prefers cool whit in the bathroom

Change the wife, not your globes.

        • you won't have to worry about changing any globes after that

Cool white makes the room look like it's in a hospital.

    • Ended up buying the warm white… got the brightest one 1400lm for $7.50

    Thanks OP

Seems like a better deal to me. But not everyone has an IKEA near them

Good for side lamps and desk lamps - too dim for lighting larger spaces?

Remember to take into account the shemozzle of negotiating to the lighting section to find the bulbs and THEN to make it out to the checkout area!

  • Bought a 10 pack from Bunnings for $23..

    • Not philips branded

      • Are they as good as Philips in terms of longevity?

  • This is basically the standard price at Bunnings, isn’t it?

    • -1

      It's Philips. That's a big difference.

      • I’m taking about the Philips globes at Bunnings. Legit question, is there a difference between them?

        • Probably last a bit longer and more reliable than non brand bulbs. Most importantly, people grow up with this name usually have good impression with their products, especially the shavers and light bulbs.

  • Thanks. Will grab a couple of cool whites for the bedroom and bathroom. No one in my family can stand warm white lights. I personally hate it with a passion as well and get massive headaches whenever I enter a room with warm white light.

    • Warm white looks too old school.. reminds me of the era when all lights were yellowish and relatively dim. Plus, bad for reading in my opinion.

  • Good price. I replaced some old cfl globes with these.
