  • HMmmm. Weird Chinese brand. Website claims that they've been around since 2003 but I've never seen a HKC sold in Oz before. If the LCD breaks or has a dead pixel, where would you get an RMA from?

    • -3

We will arrange for service/replacement during the warranty period depends on what the issue is. This brand is sold in UK for a number of years already, not in OZ. Thanks

    • Noted!

for a few bucks more, i would rather get a brand name monitor. i've had enough troubles from such no-name chinese stuffs.

We use this brand before for a while before we recommended out. I do understand your concern with products manufacture from China. Alot of the branded products are manufactured there. If we do not have the confidence of the products, we would not want to damage Hutchoo's reputation pushing out non-quality products to customers. Thank you for your comment. It is noted.

      • In addition, we have a team of people visiting factories, suppliers and also given contacts of end users to get feedback to make sure quality is up to what they say, and we buy samples to use in our office(no free gifts from supplier or factories, is one our company policy), as we are also a customer with a customer's thoughts in mind on quality.

no doubts, big brand names are mostly made in china. the difference is in their strict quality control. which makes me wonder… what happened to those which failed their QC. most of them are recycled into lesser brands. and i dont want to be obvious, but… i've not heard of hutchoo's reputation. my money's with the acers, asus and dells. they are the ones who have a big brand name to protect.

  • no warranty info

    • Added and thank you for picking that up.

I noticed when I was looking at the 32" LED that the delivery time was 3 - 4 weeks. Are you having these TV's dropshipped?

  • According to HKC website this 2249A is a LCD not LED, please clarify.
Also, on your desc. it only stated that it has DVI and RBG input which is not really for laptops. Most PC and laptop these days use HDMI or VGA D-sub.

    • +1

RGB is probably VGA anyway. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/VGA_connector)

    • No, it's LED. LED refers to the backlit technology. This TV is LED backlit, it still uses LCD technology. So technically it's an LED LCD tv. True LED tvs are $10 000.

EDIT: you're looking at the 24" model, I was refering to the 32" model on their website

      • This is how the HKC web categorise their products LED and LCD. And of course I know LED referring to the backlight.
2249A is a monitor not a TV. So, are you answering my question or are you just making a statement?

    • I'll throw in my 2c as well. The Dell 24" LED backlit monitor I bought previously uses around 25W of power compared to this model which is 55W. Either its because this HKC monitor is not LED or just inefficient or maybe something wrong with my Dell :p

I think this is a much better deal:

Dunno if the link works buts its a Dell ST2320L LED backlight 23 inch LCD for $159 delivered

    • +2

Yes, that is a much better deal from the known good brand with warranty.

      • +2

So true. Given Dell's deal, I doubt anyone would pay more than $120 for this HKC model. I, for one, would not.
