  • This or the K20/9T ? (pro or not?)

Would keep waiting for the Mi 9T Pro personally (although who knows when that's coming). K20 Pro missing LTE bands for australia.

This is probably the cheapest new Snapdragon 855 phone you can buy, although I really query whether 64gb (with no micro SD expansion) is enough…

  • This is GOod Phone but shame they don't include Expandable storage (Sd card slot).

  • Agree. Can possibly live without headphone Jack but need expandable storage. Deal breaker for me. Ripper price though and am sure it's enough for some out there.

Honestly, I have been looking at phones for the last 3 weeks and since I have settled on the idea that the next phone will have to last me till 5G starts becoming widely available this was one of the choices. But at the price point it seems like a smarter decision to buy the OnePlus 7 8GB/256 for roughly hundred bucks more from a "Australian" eBay seller so no import tax. Wait for a coupon that actually works and it would be roughly the same price as the Mi 9.

    More Ram
More Storage (and considering both phone don't have a Micro SD slot)
    Get it in a week
    Hugely better custom rom support

  • Only 3300 mah battery, my Redmi Note 3 going strong with 4k still

    • Most of the battery life tests that include this on YouTube (e.g. Mrwhosetheboss) indicate that the Mi 9 actually has really good battery life. I was surprised myself.

3300mah battery lasts me all day with 30% remaining at night. in comparison my iphone 7 used to have 2% at the end of the day for me.

Its well optimised as its using the MIUI with aggressive battery optimisations that kick in at around the 20%. also it has a 27w quick charge which tops up the battery extremely quickly.
