those specs are kinda cringey for the price

  • +3

Seems like the same price as some online retailers like mwave and i-tech.
I believe the appeal in the U-series is the factory calibration, quality control and warranty. 1440p IPS with proper standard-gamut support, so not all that great if you're looking for a gaming or office monitor.

I got a U3419W from Dell Outlet cheaper than this.

Probably better to look on there if you want one of these.

    • cheaper than this??

      • The refurbished U3419W used to be lower than $700, current is $769. As new one was around $800 but no stocks at all.

      • Yeah it was on offer at $659 I think. Refurbished but can't tell the difference from new.

    $700 and no Gsync..60hz..

But this isn't a gaming monitor, and gsync/high framerates are gaming features.

tbh there are never any full spec monitors on OzB.

I bought a U2719D from their last 30% off sale but sent it back a few weeks later. The backlight bleed (which they claimed was inherent to the frameless design) on top of the IPS glow was too much.

  • Look at that bezel.

  • $645 + $25 Shipping best get dell to price match it

  • This seems like a lot of money for a 27" 1440p 60hz panel. Paying a premium for colour calibration out of the box and usb c connection? (compared to say an 27UL600 which is 4k without the calibration and usb c for about $500 something)

    • Beautiful monitors, great build quality, unique features… But yeah hard to justify the average person here. I guess in defence, it's good that they are a point of difference in a crowded market. Can't all make gaming monitors…

Any deals on dell monitors around the $200 mark??

  • Keep an eye out on the Dell outlet website. I got this for $469 a month ago from the Dell outlet. Great monitor.

  • Any idea why this is more expensive than the HDR one that I bought earlier this year. The one that I got below has higher brightness, the same resolution, and the same response times. I love it.

Your monitor doesn't use local dimming zones, has an 8-bit panel that lacks FRC/10-bit output, and does not support the expanded color range of HDR and does not offer proper wide-gamut or standard-gamut support.

It's not a true HDR display, but rather has a brighter backlight.

  • I grabbed one of these in June for $521 (ex GST $474)… so price not great…

    Monitor is very nice though!

These were available for around $550 with the recent PASTA15 eBay deal from Futu Online.

Price was $725, 10% off in cart and 15% off with the code.

Currently available for $648 with POSTIE code.

  • Can this monitor recharge MBP, deliver files and display with only one type- c cable?
