    • Didn't work for me.

      • eBay Plus ?

        • Yes, I'm on eBay plus!

          • @ModBot: I was about to put the code in manually but it showed up in the eBay app when checking out.. guessing eBay or the seller pulled that one after they realised it haha

I do have plus. Probably only the 2nd time in 13 months it has actually been of any use.

      +$15 delivery for non pluses.

So Bunnings' Brilliant for me then.

    • Didn’t work for me either and I’m an eBay plus member

Do these communicate with external servers to work or is internal wifi sufficient?

    • External server, but can be flashed with Tasmota to run on local network.

Nice find mate .. got 2 for $20.94

  • Does the USB turn off with the same switch? If it does, I'd say that's a unique feature I've been looking for (smart usb switch).

    • +4

      nope

    • +4

Nope, just checked on mine. Even when switch is off via app, USB port remains powered. Had my iPhone plugged in to check.

        Thanks for confirming guys.

  • Nice. I price beat at OW against the Bunnings price this afternoon for $14.25 each for two and thought was a good deal.

    • +1

It's better for warranty I guess.

  • Looks like it's gone already.

  • Bugger, just bought 4 of these at the weekend from Bunnings for $15 each. Got my kettle linked up and everything. Struggling to think of what else I can automate..

    • +1

People put them on pool pumps to avoid using to go out to the pool to turn on or off. Or for powerboards for tv etc behind a cupboard that's hard to get to.

You could also connect to washing machine get it all set up ready to go and turn on remotely when say the solar is generating.

I'm sure others can post some more ideas of uses.

i use mine on the pool pump/chlorinator, not to automate it as it has its own timer already, but to cut power to it when required - sometimes it throws an alarm or i want to turn it off when I need power elsewhere without drawing from the grid. I'd have bought some more for lamps etc if I'd been fast enough for this. Reading my kid a story and then having to get up to turn the light off is a pain in the butt :D You could probably save power by using them to cut standby power to appliances between midnight and 6AM.

  • Gone

  • Dammit, I just bought one yesterday. Could have bought this deal and then 'refund' the original plug I bought. PS did not see these at my local Bunnings, paid a cool $19 at Officeworks.

  • I went to Bunnings looking for two of these smart plugs but had no stock then went to Officeworks next door got them for $14.75 each after price match and 5% off. Good bargain.
