Oppo Reno Z $413.25 Delivered (HK) @ Tobydeals ($392.59 via Officeworks Price Beat)

90

Went into Office Works (Croydon) and they had it for $497. I asked the clerk if they would price match this website, i have never heard of it before but she said as long as it is an Australian site and it's in stock. she cleared it with i am assuming her manager and price beat it by 5%. Not sure if other stores will but it ended up being $392.59. Great deal on a well featured phone.

I bought one of these on ebay from Mobileciti a couple of days ago. Came to $424 after 15% discount and ebay plus free delivery. TBH, I'm happy to have paid the extra $10 for local supply and 2 year warranty. There's also the claimable 4 months free youtube music (not really useful to me) and Digital Entertainment book (very useful). Good on you for getting Officeworks to price match, as you will have these benefits too, but I have my doubts anyone else would be that lucky.

I’d agree that you definitely got lucky! No way would my local OW (or a lot of others) match this. I recently tried matching a $50 powerboard at OW. The woman spent 20 mins reading fine print then said they can’t price match as the competitor charged $15 for a re-print of receipt if you lose your docket and OW doesn’t charge for re-prints so these terms were different. I was shocked and stood there arguing at the ridiculousness of this until she said out of her goodwill she’d match it only the once.

Last wk I price matched a $30 Bluetooth speaker at OW. It was right before COB, so they didn’t have much time. Even then the guy I got spent every last second scouring through details as if he was looking for a way out of it until he said he couldn’t see why not. The previous manager was lovely and used to price match anything in a flash but the current manager obviously is not so willing. Glad to hear you got the deal though.

“geographical advantageous country of Hong Kong”

That’s what the Chinese government is thinking…

  • I need your opinion guys.

I bought $900 worth of stuff from Tobydeals 3 days ago. I sent them an email yesterday about my order still being 'process'. its officially passed the 24-72 hour mark that they gave.

Should i contact paypal now or how long should i wait?

    • A lot of businesses closed down in HK because of the threat of a Tropical Cyclone… could be the reason for your delay? Some others on WP have had a delay with the shipping of a phone for this reason and another poster that is in HK confirmed that a lot had shut down.

      • I see. Thank you

        • I ordered a supposedly in stock phone from them a couple of weeks ago. Found out after a few emails back and forth they didn't have any stock and no information on when (or if) any stock was actually coming in. First and last time I deal with these clowns.

          • @dangercharlie: Same thing happened to me… Ordered a stock item turns out theres no stock. Luckily they gave me a date… we'll see…

  • Thanks OP, got two yesterday from OW with price match! I started with your receipt so they were already thinking it's ok to go ahead. When I showed them the website I think the 'au' in domain name helps. We see what we want to see and 'au.com' is easy to get confused with '.com.au'.

  • Thanks also OP, popped in to OW today showed them the site and were happy to price match.

  • Received mine from Mobileciti today and I am mightily impressed with the speed of the under glass fingerprint scanner and the face recognition. Only a micro second or two behind my previous HTC, and that was pretty much instant. Also super easy and quick to transfer stuff across wirelessly.
