  • Will this work for the new Transformers at IMAX?

    • Says its valid all time, no 'No Free Ticket' restrictions. So I would say yea

    • +1

      Don't think so

In the case of Imax, a standard adult ticket refers to an adult ticket for a film of less than 60 minutes duration (ie documentaries), films that are longer than 60 minutes would be subject to a surcharge (ie feature films)

      http://www.cinemasavers.com.au/cinema-saver-tandc.php

      • I think it is valid for features films but as always imax =/= imax melbourne!

  • +1

It's a dollar more than the last deal! For IMAX it's great, but for regular movies, there are cinema saver tickets for the same price elsewhere.

  • From Spreet site:

Buy today’s offer and you can choose ANY blockbuster flick, anywhere in Australia, to kick back and enjoy. That’s two tickets for only $18!

Here’s a taste of the top rated upcoming flicks to get you in the mood:

Cars 2 – A great one for the kids!
Transformers: Dark of the Moon – Action-packed and full of fun!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 – Hurray for Harry!
Green Lantern – A bit of mischief to lose yourself in
Rise of the Planet of the Apes – The digital imagery in this looks fantastic!

Conflicts with cinemasaver's terms and conditions for IMAX as posted above.

Spreet rep please clarify whether this can actually be used for blockbuster flicks in IMAX in Australia. Otherwise the wording in your website is misleading.

    • Hey guys, it is NOT restricted for films less than 60minutes duration.

  • Doesn't seem to be valid at IMAX Melbourne

    http://www.cinemasavers.com.au/cinema-saver-vic.php

    • Naww why do they always have to be different :(

  • How long does delivery take?

    • More than 12 days, if ever. I still haven't received my tickets from the last promotion.

    • I hope it is not two months because I have been waiting for 18 days.

  • +2

Still haven't received my tickets from the last promo..

    Guys beware.
    1. Till now I have NOT receieved my tickets from the last spreets offer for imax tickets.
    2. AlwaysOnSale is pure Scam
    3. You can't use this for imax blockbuster movies.
"In the case of Imax, a standard adult ticket refers to an adult ticket for a film of less than 60 minutes duration (ie documentaries), films that are longer than 60 minutes would be subject to a surcharge (ie feature films)" If I recall correctly they charge you around $10 extra for each ticket to be able to watch a 60+ minute film.

      Hey Bashar,
About the previous movie deal, if you have already shared your address details, we can assure you that AMV has already sent/is sending the tickets. The delay might be because of the volume of vouchers sold. Thank your for your patience and understanding.

About today's deal: The tickets CAN be used for blockbuster movies.

Hope this clarifies. If you need any more assistance, please email [email protected]

      • Okay so based on this, if i purchase this deal i can watch transformers 3 in 3D for 18 dollars? @ IMAX Darling Harbor? harbor?

        $9 dollars per person?

        • Hey Vsia2165, you can use this for a 3d movie. However, extra 3D charges that apply for regular tickets will apply. Hope this clarifies.

        • Spreetssupport

I am afraid you are confusing everybody here.
Imax charges the same for 2d and 3d movies. There si no 3D surcharge in Imax and Imax doesn’t charge for the 3D glasses either.

In Imax the rates are different between Documentaries (less than 60 minutes) and feature films (60+ minutes)

Reading the faq on Imax website I still fear that people who bought this hoping to watch feature films will be shocked with another 17$ because these vouchers don’t cover Feature films as per the FAQ. This has nothing to do with the film being 3D or 2D.

Based on all my comments I decided to advise all my friends to avoid this deal as honestly I can see things going wrong with this one.

Even spreets website specifies that the original price is $39 for a double pass, while for Imax the full price for a double pass for a feature film is $57 (2 X $28.5)

Again I hope this works for you guys and I hope the Spreetssupport is sure of his advice. Good Luck.

        Spreetssupport

Thank you for replying. I will confirm in ozbargain once I receive my tickets in the mail.

However with regard to todays deal. I am afraid that what you mention about ability to use for 60+ minute movies contradicts with the Cinema Saver voucher T&C.

So for the benefit for other ozbargainers are you saying that this rule from the T&C of Cinema Saver voucher are ignored when redeeming the Cinema Saver voucher? and are you saying that imax faq is wrong as well?

        • Heya, I can confirm that this is a spreets deal and the T&Cs of other deals do not apply. You can definitely use it for regular movies.

        • Because of your reply am removing my negative vote.

    • I haven't received them either. My request to know why has gone unanswered.

Tomorrow if I still have received no answer I will go to my bank and get the money back.

      • Heya, if you have redeemed your voucher for tickets, the we can confirm that AMV are already sending out/sent the tickets. The delay might be due to the large volume of tickets sold. You should definitely receive your tickets shortly. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

        • Spreetssupport,

I've purchased 3vouchers and when I tried to redeem via the link thats provided it's coming up with this message:

"The page you are looking for seems to have been moved, or is no longer valid.
Please visit our homepage and try again."

This doesn't sound or look good at all. Can you please clarify this?

  • +1

This is from the Sydney Imax web site…

"Please note that there is a SURCHARGE of $8.50 when using a Cinema Saver voucher for feature films at the IMAX Theatre Sydney ie. films more than 60 minutes in duration. However, No Free List (or No Free Tickets ‘NFT’) restrictions DO NOT apply in the case of Cinema Savers.
We DO NOT charge a fee for 3D glasses"

So that's $18 for the voucher and $17 surcharge (for 2 tickets) = $35. Two adult tickets for a new release feature would be $57. So still a bit of a bargain - if the tickets ever show up.

    • +2

If you Join Imax club you get a voucher that gives you buy 1 get 1 free. so that's $28.50 for 2 tickets. which is cheaper and better than risking $18 and paying an additional $17.
      http://imax.com.au/mymax/

      • thanks for the tip

      • This does not work for movie listed on NFT.

        • No it doesn't. Just wait 7 or 10 days to watch the movie. not a big deal to me at least

  • I expect a third party like spreets to offer better deals than this. Its not as cheap as other deals you can get for these independent providers unless you are looking at the imax price but seems like there is some question over the imax deal anyway so I can't see the value in using spreets for this at all.

Be warned Guys. as per my fears the spreets rep advice was wrong:

    Hi,

We apologize for any inconveniences caused but in the fine print it stated "Standard Cinema Saver terms & conditions apply." By reading the fine print it says there would be a surcharge placed on movies over 60 minutes. In highlights it stated "Choose any of the latest blockbuster flicks" which means you are able to select any of the available blockbuster movies, but never stated that there aren't any surcharges. We urge customers to read the fine print before purchasing any deal so they understand all the terms and conditions.

Please contact us again if there is anything further we can do for you and enjoy your Spreets experience!

    Kind Regards

    Team Spreets.

    • Spreets need to word their offers more carefully. As over 2000 people thought this was a good deal for watching blockbuster movies, but now because of false advertising, over 2000 people are being ripped off.

I will NOT be using spreets again. Wish I saw this ozbargain post earlier :(

The problem is that even the spreets rep gave misleading info when he said that the T&C don't apply to their vouchers which is purely WRONG.
        Spreets Shame on you.

        • Hi Bashar, we are currently looking into how this can be sorted because of our commitment to you. We will keep you updated. Thanks for your patience and understanding.

        • Hi Spreetssupport
Well as I said earlier I didn't buy any of these as I knew things were gonna go badly wrong, am just doing that for the general good.
However am still waiting for my AMV Vouchers which seems they are taking their sweet time to arrive to my mailbox and I am very unhappy from the whole experience.

        • I have just received my cinema savers and they both state in the T&Cs that

"In the case of Imax, a standard adult ticket refers to an adult ticket for a film of less than 60 minutes duration (ie documentaries), films that are longer than 60 minutes would be subject to a surcharge (ie feature films)"

Spreetssupport, what will you do about this?
