6TB showing as 173.99 and not sold by Amazon.
Must have sold out price gone up
Not going to neg, but when you can get a WD or Seagate 2.5" hdd that's usb powered maybe only 5tb for that price, why wld a you want a 240v elephant hdd… Idk
To shuck
if the elephant drives are shuckable they are far more reliable than USB powered drives with integrated SATA bridges.
I think this uses a seagate HHD. They have a bad reputation within the data recovery industry and not being reliable.
The same could also be said for WD drives(WD had a shocking run with their 40gb drives which was probably the worst in history). They have both had their problems and so have others such as Fujitsu etc. Perhaps you could say the old IBM deskstars had a fairly perfect record, but they have not been available for 15 years.
PS Your link is for a particular laptop drive from the past as well.
Mwave.com.au had the 4Tb for $129 yesterday.
now gone back up to same price.I owned 4 of these years ago and they were terrible. The speed is very slow and one of them the power supply was faulty and was causing disk errors. Would not recommend this drive.
Bought one of these about 3 years ago, a 3TB model. Died after 3 months. Got it replaced and the replacement has lasted until now. Its turned on daily, connected to my computer no issues.
will this work on PC?
